What do you mean by "it looks like Gears"? Do you mean the character models? I certainly don't think the environments look like Gears at all. Maybe the armored characters - but they certainly aren't as ridiculously over the tops as the Gears characters are.
The Fallout games feel nothing like Gears, and if the third is anything like the first two Fallout games it will be so far beyond Gears (which is a great game, by the way) that comparing the two will be an insult. If you don't believe me, then go play the first two (which are 11 and 9 years old now) and see how great they are despite their age.
Now, of course, if RPGs aren't your style you will hate Fallout. So I guess the point of this long winded response is: don't discount this game based off of some perceived superficial commonality with Gears.

Yeah, the whole Fallout series ripped off Gears of War. You know, Interplay had a time machine back in the 90s and they used it to rip off an overrated 360 franchise. Yeah... Idiot.

@adolson. I think Gears Of War and this game are way overrated. What I'm saying is it looks like Gears in it's art approach and to me that looks like garbage. I could care less about which came first, but in the end this game looks lame.

Lookin good.. but I did enjoy playing gears of war. I like playing characters that resemble armored ninja turtles.
Lets get some pizza!
