80GB Metal Gear systems on amazon.com tomorrow at 10AM PST

If you've been waiting for the standard 80GB Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle, which includes a 80GB PS3, a regular copy of Metal Gear Solid 4, and a DualShock 3 controller, you're going to have to fight the thousands of others that are undoubtedly also waiting to buy the system. You can try your luck in stores on June 12th, when the system (and game) releases ... or you can test your luck with amazon.com tomorrow (Friday).

According to the online retailer, "demand for this item is so great, we anticipate selling out very quickly." Thankfully, you'll have a slight edge over others who may be browsing the site. The bundle will be available at 10AM PST (1PM EST) tomorrow. Get your F5 buttons ready -- and g'luck to all of you.

Update: Please note that the system will be $499 when it is available tomorrow. Any prices you see right now are third-party resellers that are free to charge whatever they want to -- and they want to charge a lot.

Does anyone know if this is the processor on this is the 65nm or the 45nm version?

45nm is rumored to come early Fall, but I doubt Sony will make it public. I myself can't wait for it, so I'll be shooting for the next SKU that sports the newer heatsink (for what it's worth). We may have to depend on others to let us know.

What difference does the 45 nm vs the 65 nm manufacture process make? Lower heat, lower electricity consumption?

but but... you wouldn't know about it if not for the blog..... wat if we go back in time and then.... oh wait... F5 practice my friend.. do it.. and if you somehow run windows.. make sure only 40 of the currently 67 running programs are running so that you can refresh quicker!

I don't think these will sell as quickly as launch consoles do, but I think sales will be pretty fast regardless. I'm expecting their allotted stock to vanish in about 30-45 minutes.

That's not what Amazon's price will be. That's a price from a third-party seller from Amazon's Marketplace (think of it as E-bay without the bidding, anyone can sell anything, at any price).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe these will only be as much as the Motorstorm pack ($499)?

Just out of curiosity, are there any people who already own PS3s that are interested in this?

Me personally, I already got two DS3s from Buy.com ($38 shipped) for my 80GB Motorstorm edition, and I'm more interested in the LE version of MGS4 (Just the game, not the console).

Anyone else going to be getting a second PS3 for this?

if I didn't own a PS3, I'd just get a standalone console and MGS4 and a DS3 separately, or try to find the 80GB Motorstorm pack and buy the game separately.

it is not $899. read what papertiger said. the price is going to be $499 just like everywhere else.

does anyone know of any good deals that are coming for this bundle? the one i am looking at is the 100$ off on sonystyle when you sign up for a new credit card. unless something else pops up in the sunday ads this week.

I've just checked on this And I think it would be an awesome buy but as a 24 year old big kid that works for a living there is no way I can stand in line and therefore will miss out. Why do all the cool Exclusives only come in such a limited quantity therefore making you buy it for a ridiculous price on eBay if you really want one. Some real BS if you ask me. Whats next, they do the same thing for FFXIII

I read somewhere that the UK is getting a 40GB system with just the SIXAXIS. Which is kind of mean of Sony, but that's how they treat Europe for the most part. :(

just a heads up... gamestop has the bundle up on their website for pre-order as well. The catch is that it is 60 dollars more, but also comes with the bluetooth headset. I decided to get one last night, just cause it sounds like they will probably be hard to get a hold of on Amazon or in physical stores (my local gamestop was only expecting 2-3 of them on the 12th).
