Burnout Paradise's Cagney update gets dated
The huge update everyone with a copy of Burnout Paradise has been waiting for will finally hit this July 10. The update with custom soundtracks and added game modes will be available for download at 9 am GMT. That's 4 am EST for us Americans.
Cagney comes out roughly over two months after the Bogart release gave players some nice incentives. You'd think that for content as good as this, you'd be paying for it; luckily, you won't have to pay a cent. It's completely free. Check out the official website for more details.

This update DOES NOT include:
Night Driving
MotorBikes
That's the "Davis" Update.
Might want to update that so you don't get people excited.

Majed I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure the update with bikes is the Davis update; which isn't due out til august :/

Hey thanks guys for spotting that. It's been a slow news day, sure, but it's been hectic here in the office.

So if this update comes out July 10 with custom soundtracks, why would we need that if 2.40 has In-Game XMB with music? I'm starting to have doubts we wont be able to play music in game yet. Maybe friends, but thats it. We shall see soon!

Criterion gets new software from Sony to create this option for custom Soundtracks.....so it's completely up to them. This way, the game will automatically play a playlist instead of always having to go back to the XMB to change the music.
Think about it that way.

I dont know if i read it right but in a post they said in-game music needed a code in the game (added via update in older games). so you can play music. Update 2.40 will have to come before july 10... thats my guess. ( sorry if i spelled something right.)

That's right, BUT think about it....as soon as you close the XMB during a game, the music might shut off....OR it will stay on and interfere with the music already playing in the game. I don't think there would be that much freedom with the in-game XMB, I think it will be used for messaging, and that's it. so Sony has the feature available, but it's up to Criterion to make it available which they did.
