Hori bringing Soulcalibur arcade sticks to US
In preparation of Namco Bandai's upcoming fighting game, Hori is set to release an arcade pad in the US. There are a few things of note of this peripheral, as noted by Siliconera. Firstly, the PS3 pad is only $50 (as opposed to the Xbox 360's $60 controller). Secondly, Hori hasn't announced plans to bring this to Japan. Could the tables have finally turned? Strange!
Hardcore fighting fans swear by arcade pads, opting not to use standard controllers. We'll see if Soulcalibur IV dominates the competitive fighting scene when it releases at the end of next month.

I hope Hori will do the same for SF4.

The PS3 FS3 and the 360 EX2 (which is what these two sticks are), are the two worst sticks that Hori has ever made. Avoid at all costs.
I'm a custom arcade stick builder, so I've dealth with a lot of different arcade sticks over the past few years...

I wants it, but my wife says no. Maybe I'll wait for the Street Fighter 4 stick, which has already been revealed to be planned. But this one looks nice for 50 bucks.

Is the stick officially made by capcom ?

Why do we need this?... seriously?
The PS3 controller works perfectly fine for these games.

Is there an arcade stick that works for PS3/360/PC all around? Which stick would you recommend? If it can't work with the PS3 and 360, which PS3 stick is the best for the price? *Cheaper is better and need PC compatibility*
Carney @ Jun 10th 2008 10:28AM
Is it wireless? And most importantly, will it work with PS2/PS1 games?
There are plenty of 2D arcade shooters that would be great to use with an arcade stick. And older fighting games too.

Okay huge thing that drives me nuts with "arcade sticks". What fighting games have you played in the arcade where the stick had a GIANT ball on the end of it like nearly all consol arcade sticks have had?
The longer, thinner end to the stick was on every fighting game I ever played in the arcade including each Street Fighter 2 iteration, each game in the Mortal Kombat Series, hell even Bloodstorm got this right.
The only thing I can possibly think of is that maybe Neo Geo fighting games had the ball but I'm not sure.
I hate it hate it hate it!
/end rant

Then spend the $5 and buy yourself a bat top. Just about EVERY arcade machine in japan uses ball tops.
Joe @ Jun 10th 2008 2:23PM
Well not all of us are custom arcade stick manufacturers or know that its called a "bat top"
Brad @ Jun 11th 2008 1:54PM
Is this USB or Bluetooth?
RemzRR @ Jun 23rd 2008 9:07AM
I have some questions that have not been answered?
Maybe PS3Fanboy can do a comparison of the SF4 & SCIV Arcade Sticks
Is the Stick USB or Bluetooth?
Is it Wireless?
Can it be used with PS2/PS1 Games?
Is it compatible with Xbot360?
If all the answers to these questions are yes then I have no problem dropping 50
