Deal of the Day: Burnout Paradise $40 everywhere [Update]
Criterion's racing game has a number of updates planned for this year and beyond, and we approve. For those that haven't jumped into Paradise City, Walmart.com's price reduction on Burnout Paradise might warrant a purchase. For $40, you'll get all of Paradise City, access to the upcoming expansions, and an extra $20 to keep in your wallet. That's not too shabby!Update: Looks like this was a universal price drop. Burnout Paradise is also $40 at amazon.com, Best Buy, buy.com, Circuit City, Gamestop.
[Thanks, Juan P.!]

You're welcome Andrew :)

Nice catch. Looks like Haze is getting the $40 treatment from amazon as well. Oh my poor wallet.
ajiezer @ Jun 10th 2008 12:30PM
Yup I know what you mean, my wallet is going to suffer too for MGS4 and DBZ Burst limit
MrGuru @ Jun 10th 2008 11:01AM
they need to have offline split screen to make this a purchase to me.
or online splitscreen.
Lars @ Jun 10th 2008 2:09PM
Unfortunately, splitscreen is kinda rare these days (I miss it too). If that's your criteria then you must have a very very small library indeed. Warhawk has it, but that's all I can think of. Online play is really superseded it.
It'd be a shame for you to miss out on an awesome game because of that!

must save money for MGS4 and gasoline
Blackacidstang @ Jun 10th 2008 11:02AM

drdre74 @ Jun 10th 2008 11:16AM
save your money and get it off gamefly for half that price.
Gemini Ace @ Jun 10th 2008 11:19AM
Save your money and don't buy it at all. Send them a message that we want the old Burnout back!
JerJerBinks @ Jun 10th 2008 11:32AM
Don't be afraid of change, especially when its a change for the better.
adolson @ Jun 10th 2008 12:13PM
Burnout Paradise is awesome. Much better than the older ones - at least the ones I've played... Honestly, it's been the best $60 game I bought so far, and I'm not exactly a big car or racing fan. But Burnout Paradise rocks. I'm sorry you don't like the improvements.
Lars @ Jun 10th 2008 2:12PM
I can see Gemini's point though. I'm not really a racing fan (though I like cars), didn't care for the old Burnout, but I love this game. I could imagine someone feeling exactly opposite.
Scout Rush @ Jun 10th 2008 11:22AM
I can essentially play Burnout within GTA4 if I want...
Eddie @ Jun 10th 2008 3:35PM
Now that is stupid.
JerJerBinks @ Jun 10th 2008 11:31AM
Everyone that enjoys exploration and racing should get this game, it is one of the best "this gen" experiences I have had to date. I think I have spent somewhere close to 100 hours just doing the single player, with an additional 30 or so on the multiplayer. Plus, they are continuing development on the game with patching and content addition. Motorcycles FTW!
Popfrogs @ Jun 10th 2008 11:44AM
Also this game has been given thumbs up from every reviewer, magazine, and gamer. It's universally regarded as a must-own PS3 title.
