Game Informer gets inFAMOUS
It's been awhile since we heard from Sucker Punch about their upcoming PS3 game, inFAMOUS. Well, looks like the shroud of secrecy will be lifted in the July issue of Game Informer. The cover confirms that this will be a "sandbox game" (a la Grand Theft Auto IV). However, you will have "extraordinary powers" that come from a "cataclysmic explosion." It's looking dark, it's looking epic ... and it's exclusive to PS3. Game Informer is promising ten pages of info on the game. Once this issue comes in, our next trip to the bathroom will also be quite infamous.

Nice, can't wait to see what this game is like, i hope it plays well.
playcrackthesky @ Jun 10th 2008 11:56PM
Thats exactly the thing mate, another exclusive = more high hope.
But what have these exclusives left us? HS, Haze, Lair...all which failed after we helf high hope.
I for one have been waiting ages for inFORMATION on inFAMOUS. but this time around, im going to be very pessimistic...so that way if it does turn out bad, my feelings wont be crushed.
Kenneth H. @ Jun 11th 2008 11:42AM
what about Warhawk, and Uncharted and Resistance...those are awesome exclusives....

Eggy @ Jun 11th 2008 11:53AM
Yeah because Uncharted, Ratchett & Clank, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk etc. have all been crap.
benny boy @ Jun 11th 2008 5:21AM
I don't know why everyone voted playcrackthesky down. He has a point.
If a game is hyped up too much (which has been very common recently), it's not going to live up to expectations.
jtedesco33 @ Jun 11th 2008 11:52AM
He was voted down because this is a fanboy site and anyone that puts down an exclusive before it comes out is blasphemous to the fanboys.
This console war is follwed as if it were the Middle East by many people with little else to be passionate about. Anything negative that you have to say about the Playstation brand or it's games will get voted down or flamed.
Eric E @ Jun 11th 2008 9:28AM
Yeah i voted you 2 up, for fear of the same fate, b/c theres nothing wrong w/ an opinion presented decently.
Question, how is this game pronounced? InFAMOUS or infamous (in-fa-miss)?
Skunk Ape @ Jun 11th 2008 9:41AM
@playcrackthesky
You have a point, but I resent Heavenly Sword being lumped in with Haze and Lair. The only real problem with HS was it's length. What the PS3 really needs to jump start itself (past that game were all getting tomorrow) is God of War 3. I can't possibly see how that could be a bad game.
anthonyjh @ Jun 11th 2008 3:02PM
JAHLA JHAHLALA! DOWN WITH THE INFIDELS!
playcrackthesky @ Jun 11th 2008 7:50PM
Damn that was pretty nasty.
I was talking about games that were hyped before their release when it was an unknown quantity.
Resistance and Ratchet, I mean its insomniac, where is the doubt it wouldnt be great?
Same thing with Uncharted. We all trust the dev's there.
Its no suprise the exclusives made by a company we havent heard of ended up rank.
Luckily, the Sly games are behind these dev's so I do trust them. But I stick to my belief of not getting my hopes to high up.
doc j @ Jun 10th 2008 8:55PM
It looks promising. I'm interested. I'm wondering if it will release before Prototype?
I am also wondering if this reminder of a promising exclusive, despite not being a JRPG, will quell the threatened (impending?) PS3 exodus (1). Strategic mentioning of exclusivity duly noted. Well played, Yoon. Well played, indeed.

Comment of the day right there doc.
"Once this issue comes in, our next trip to the bathroom will also be quite infamous." Teeheehee!
SmooveRN @ Jun 10th 2008 10:30PM
I hope this exclusive is better than the last one...
Haze anyone..? Epic fail.
DjDATZ @ Jun 11th 2008 9:42AM
LOL...When I read this I instantly thought of Lair and Haze.
RazLeboL @ Jun 10th 2008 9:42PM
Finally! Can't wait to see the new stuff.
HanzoTheRazor @ Jun 10th 2008 10:49PM
This game could be that sleeper we all want... looks prommising.
frankym @ Jun 10th 2008 10:13PM
Can't wait for this game!!
Most important, it is a PS3 exclusive. It will allow Sucker Punch to really pack that dual layer blu-ray with insanely detailed world and graphics.....it will be what GTA4 should have been if it would have been an exclusive.
One of the defining games for the PS3 for sure.
Gaucho @ Jun 10th 2008 10:24PM
Did somebody say "friggin awesome"? This will be a game people will be talking about for a long time.
J-Rock281 @ Jun 10th 2008 10:55PM
Am I the only one that is just now hearing about this game?
Reymo @ Jun 10th 2008 11:03PM
Im speechless, man...just utter sweetness, I cant stop smiling.
Justin @ Jun 10th 2008 11:05PM
Is it just me, or does the guy on that cover look like Justin Timberlake?
Nineteen88 @ Jun 10th 2008 11:39PM
OMG OMG OMG, I was gonna say the exact same thing! Wow man, you read my mind, lol!

I Don't think they'll use the Dual-Layer disks, where did you get that piece of information from? Besides, I reckon Killzone2 would use the Dual-Layer disks.
I hope this game trounces GTA IV, but I'm not so sure what to expect from Sony anymore.
frankym @ Jun 11th 2008 12:27AM
MGS4 uses the dual layer disk and seeing that this game will be an open world environment with over the top graphics, the only option will probably be dual layer.
DrunkRaba @ Jun 10th 2008 11:36PM
this game looks great, like a good looking version of Crackdown.
Bad Mojo @ Jun 11th 2008 10:22AM
Exactly what I was thinking.... one of the only 360 games I really wanted to play, but in the end I opted and got the PS3 and love every minute of it :)
massive_98 @ Jun 10th 2008 11:39PM
It does look like timberlake; I'm already afraid of a tie in with that new song of his.
bs6268d @ Jun 10th 2008 11:59PM
wish we had a exclusive from epic or some other big 3Rd party companies ?
Which company do you want ?
DrunkRaba @ Jun 11th 2008 12:23AM
Squeenix!
reson8er @ Jun 11th 2008 9:40AM
"Squeenix!"
We have a little game called Final Fantasy XIII and to top it off Versus XII, both exclusives.
John @ Jun 11th 2008 12:01AM
Funny ending, Yoon. Suckerpunch did the Sly games excellently on ps2, so I expected big, but early showings of this didn't generate excitement, but I see it when I do a search, so maybe they'll give us again what they always have.
Tetsuhana @ Jun 11th 2008 12:44AM
I think Infamous has the potential to change console gaming. Maybe not the way GTA III did, but the idea of being able to choose to be a hero or villain sounds awesome. GTA only gives you freedom when it comes to just screwing around, I can't wait to see how the story changes based on actions.
MCX @ Jun 11th 2008 4:52AM
Wasn't there a Star Wars game where you could be good or evil. ... also wasn't there a Prince of Persia game that did that as well??? The choosing good or bad thing.
The Sound @ Jun 11th 2008 12:25AM
I LOVED SlyCooper 1 (didn't play 2/3 shame) and I will be looking forward to this now.
As for the bathroom comment; Fapping anyone?
Sam @ Jun 11th 2008 2:26PM
Looks to be Crackdown on ... crack. Which is by no means a bad thing. Crackdown is probably my favorite 360 game (even over Table Tennis (I know crazy, right?)) and I've been hoping some company would take the reigns of the genre since there isn't a Crackdown 2 on the way anytime soon. I just hope Sucker Punch can pull this off while leaving the childishness of Sly behind them. This is definitely going to be the new property to watch out for on the PS3. Can't wait for my issue of Gameinformer.
-Jad- @ Jun 11th 2008 3:19AM
I'm expecting gameplay of this game soon especially on this E3.

Gameinformer MGSS 4 review:
10/10
mushmouth @ Jun 11th 2008 9:06AM
I bought a subscription. I thought it was fairly well done and it was an excuse to get calling all cars. So far I am happy with my decision. I like the attitude that everything Sony does should be free. Sony gives its customers substantially more for free than MS does for the 360 customers.
Brandon07 @ Jun 11th 2008 9:31AM
Yeah it looks like a great game, but I only hope it is not over hyped and delayed.
Gemini Ace @ Jun 11th 2008 9:40AM
Sounds cool. Maybe it'll be like Crackdown.
ash @ Jun 11th 2008 12:42PM
i think i could be likle crack down
EDW @ Jun 11th 2008 2:14PM
hooray. i've been curious about this game for forever
SamuraiBubba @ Jun 11th 2008 4:34PM
I like the idea of no firearms. Means Sucker Punch will have to focus more on crazy superpowers.
I hope this uses a 50GB blu-ray. I've been waiting for there to be a sandbox game that would take advantage of the extra space.
