Prinny says: Watch this English Disgaea 3 trailer

Okay, well it's not entirely in English. While the logos and superimposed text in this Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice trailer are all in English, the in-game footage being showcased here are mostly from the Japanese version. The message should still come across the same, however -- the game is looking pretty hot as far as S-RPGs go.

Reminding us of demon penguins and damage point totals ranging up into the bajillions, Disgaea 3 seems to have everything we want from the series. Just don't forget to pre-order the game before its release in August. You'll want to pick up the bonus soundtrack. You know, the one you can customize.

I know a lot of people like Disgaea, but I just can't help but think how much it would be if it actually had next gen graphics.

Disgaea was always a gen behind, D1 was basically a PS1 game, D2 was barely a PS2 game, and D3 will be a PS2 game.

except for the FX and such (which I usually disable to speed up the game)

That being said, this game is near the top of my need to have list. descent chance I will replay this before I replay FFXIII

Is this a PSN game? Because most PSN games have put more effort into graphics then this. Nintendo called, they want their game back.

The sheer content and scale of Disgaea make having 3D graphics near impossible, play 1 and 2 and you'll see what I mean. Now with Blu-Ray they, could have possibly pulled it off but i guess they figured, increase the graphics and make a slightly smaller game, or merely tweak them and make a ridiculously HUGE game and looks like we're gonna get a super huge game. That being Disgaea 1 is one of my top 10 favorite RPGs of all time.

I miss the crazy Japanese voice-over guy from the original version of this trailer. Oh well.

As far as the graphics go for this ... I like the chibi-type characters doing ridiculous over-the-top attacks.

Having said that ... more tactical RPGs in the style of Valkyrie Chronicles would be nice.
