Insomniac clarifies comments on Resistance trophy and Home support
Insomniac Games tells Eurogamer that trophy and Home support will not be added into Resistance: Fall of Man contrary to our previous report. Both features, however, will be fully supported for the upcoming Resistance 2 coming out this Fall.
In all honesty, we're perfectly fine without both features in the first Resistance. It's really time to move forward anyway. Resistance 2 is on the horizon and that's where the development focus should be fixated on. We just hope that at least one out of these two features will be ready by game's launch.

I think they are scared to admit that they know the XMB is coming out soon.

Insomniacs comments has absolutely nothing to do with IG-XMB reveal.

I know it doesn't but the fact that they say I hope one of the two features are out means that they want us to think they know nothing about it. they wouldn't have said anything if the tension wasn't going on right now on wether or not its coming.
SORRY FOR SPELLING! I'm retarted.

dude that wasnt part of the quote. thats why it was in a separate paragraph. that was just the author of the articles insight into it.
he was talking about Home not being out and the rumor that we may get trophies before Home even comes out.
Meximan @ Jun 11th 2008 5:17PM
Actually I think he was cracking a joke at the way SONY usually has delay features such as in-game XMG and HOME. The author hopes that at least one of these features will be out by the time R2 hits this fall, since FW 2.4 hasn't been dated, and HOME is "scheduled" for fall...

"Insomniacs comments has absolutely nothing to do with IG-XMB reveal."
Well, not directly, but IG-XMB is coming with firmware 2.4 --which also includes Trophies.

As a side note, it was nice to hear Insomniac put the "bullshots" rumor to rest on their recent podcast. Yes, R2 officially looks gorgeous.
Popfrogs @ Jun 11th 2008 3:14PM
Insomniac usually gives us in-game shots anyway because they look great.

I bought a subscription. I thought it was fairly well done and it was an excuse to get calling all cars. So far I am happy with my decision. I like the attitude that everything Sony does should be free. Sony gives its customers substantially more for free than MS does for the 360 customers.

IGX should of been out MONTHS ago!!!
IGMusic and such I could careless about but not being able to respond to my friends when they message me while in game is growing REALLY OLD.

So much for in-game XMB before MGS4 anyway.

Basically translated "Sony took too f*cking long to get Home ready and since nobody will play Resistance 1 once the sequel comes out we will put all our effort into R2 with Home support".
I just hope that Insomniac doesn't ultimately waste any time adding Home support in R2 as we may not see Home until R3 is released.

I know this isn't really related to the article, but am I the only person on earth that didn't really care for Resistance?
Andrew Arambula @ Jun 13th 2008 8:28PM
Probably, Resistance 1 was the only decent game at launch so most people who got it then bought the game. It's a pretty good game, not close to the best, but still fun. They also introduced a lot interesting things with the first resistance, but they weren't able to put everything they wanted to into it since it's a launch title. Launch titles are always limited since 1) they're usually rushed and 2) the developers still don't have that much knowledge about the system.
They seem to be bringing it up many notches with R2 though. Just hearing all the things they're putting into the game makes it sound like it's going to be an incredible game.
