Tidus & Jecht revealed for Dissidia
It has been awhile back since we last hear anything related to Dissidia: Final Fantasy. We even broke up the long silence with our "Top 20 Final Fantasy characters that should be in Dissidia" feature. In that feature, we listed Jecht as one of our top draws. Looks like we need not worry.
The Final Fantasy X father and son duo are both heading into the mixed cameo fighting game as revealed by this week's issue of Famitsu. Very cool stuff. We wonder who's next, and, will it be another six months again before we hear anything else?

Sweet. I was hoping for either Jeckt or Seymore. Finally, I'll be able to control Jeckt and that kickass looking sword of his.

I find it funny that this was announced as an FF 20th anniversary project and it will be released as an FF 22nd anniversary title.
There is some video of the game out there btw.. its just a bit difficult to find. Its very similar to Kingdom Hearts and Dawn of Mana from what I can tell. Very 3 dimensional, very fast, looks really cool. I hope hope hope hope that it supports infrastructure as well as ad hoc, but Im fairly certain it will be ad hoc only.

do you mean the trailer, or is there another video?
Saigon @ Jun 11th 2008 2:53PM
I'm pretty sure there has only video that's available to see, is the trailer.
I really want to see the video IGN saw and did a preview on. It had Tidus and Seph going at it.

YAY DISSIDIA, ive been waiting for news for months lol, and now they tell us something we pretty much knew anyway lol

Sigh and yawn. Someone call me when an actual female is shown. What a sausage fest this thing is. -_-
TJF588 @ Jun 12th 2008 6:53AM
Kuja's close enough, Palamecia is feminine (enough so that his summon in FFXII is female), and then there Ultimecia...
So, they went with Jecht. Can't say that bums me (though I do think someone at GFAQs claimed him in earlier than this post did, but eh), especially since he's sportin' some BFA aspects (here's hoping to get a glance at what Tidus's would've looked like!), but I do feel a sort of want for Seymour to've gotten in. Perhaps they could've alter his outfit so he wouldn't look paunchy...
Well'p, now on to wondering if FFX-2 will be in the mix. Hm, Yuna's a given, and there's enough sworders that Paine wouldn't be it... perhaps... oh hell... Leblanc?!
TJF588 @ Jun 12th 2008 6:54AM
Tidus vs Shuyin would have a certain novelty to it, though.
Ooh! I want final boss battles in DFF! Vegnagun battle for the strange!
CornBreadtm @ Jun 13th 2008 2:07AM
The villains have been announced (They where all on the official poster for the game) so anyone who was expecting Seymour is slow on the draw... 3 months slow.
Villians:
Garland (I)
Emperor Palamecia (II)
Cloud of Darkness (III)
Golbez (IV)
Exdeath (V)
Kefka (VI)
Sephiroth (VII)
Ultimecia (VIII)
Kuja (IX)
Jecht (X)
These are the announced heroes.
Heros:
Warrior of light (I)
Firion (II)
Squall Leonhart (VIII)
Zidane Tribal (IX)
Tidus (X)
So then from process of elimination... the only main heros left are... obviously... for got sakes you sould know these.
Onion Knight/Luneth (III) (this ones probally going to be onion knight not luneth but who knows right.)
Cecil Harvey (IV) (You all knew this one.)
Bartz Klauser (V) (ROFL)
Terra Branford (VI) (Here's your girl... no more sausage fest)
Zack Fair.... I mean Cloud Strife (VII) (This one up for debate... Yea right.) (Zack will be in it if they put Genesis as a secret character or something.) (I hope.) ( I'm a Zack fan.) (It will be weird to see what they do with cloud since his Amano look is the same as Nomura's so he might just look the same)
Theres only 10 Villians and 10 Heroes some anyone else will be a secret character.
FFT, FFTA, FFTA2, X-2, DoC, CC, XI, XII, and XIII are not included unless secret.
But i know were all hoping for Balthier (Leading man baby) and Lightning ( I just want try her out). O yea i agree Yuna would be cool for a extra girl secret (I'd prefer summoner Yuna over dress sphere for the Anima summon).
So theres are my most hoped for secrets:
Zack (He Punches...)
Genesis (I just want his story finished so FFVII can end >.>)
Balthier (He talks so cool)
Lightning (I can't wait for FFXIII)
Yuna (For Anima)
TJF588 @ Jun 13th 2008 10:27AM
Yuna's token aeon is the also-female Valefor, which is about the only not-Seymour's-*** aeon not to've been in FF before that point.
Anyway, I'd like to believe that villain line-up, and I don't doubt that those're logical choices, but we're some sauce?
I agree that Onion Knight is more likely than any particular main character, and it'd be awesome to see a badass OK ("OK"? yeash...).
I'd hope to have original names restored, but given FFIV(DS), that's not likely to happen past any ADVANCE changes. Dammit, I wanna kick your ass with Butz!
Now, for your Zack qualms, may I point at Einhander (or whatever the game was) where one of Cloud's swaps was Zack... or so I think... This could actually open up the way for Things, such as a Dark Knight Cecil (if that's not involved in a Zelda/Sheik-like setup), Shuyin, the FFIII playables, Celes, KH versions of Cloud and Squall, pre-screw'd-up Ultimecia (Rinoa?! nah...), FFXII Mateus, un-armored Golbez[a], etc...
