Haze patch fixes online co-op
One of our biggest qualms about Haze , apart from the wasted potential of the story, was that its biggest selling point (four player online co-op) didn't work properly. Bizarre error messages asking people to install a non-existent patch would pop up and prevent friends from playing with each other. Incredibly frustrating. Thankfully, the patch seems to have been released yesterday. A 51MB download updates the game to version 1.04 and removes the nasty co-op glitches.
The patch plays around with your save file, so that you have to start from the beginning of the last level you got to, but that's a negligible annoyance to suffer in return for finally being able to play with all your buddies. It's just a shame about the timing. With Metal Gear Solid 4 now out in all territories, we don't suspect Haze is going to get much of a look in for a while.

Too bad there aren't 4 people who would play it.

I bet you (along with most other haters out there) have never played it. I just received Haze from amazon last night, and I must say it's a very enjoyable game. In fact I think I prefer it to the first Resistance.
Maybe I'm the one off, but this game got a bad rap that it didn't deserve. Definitely worth the $40.

@wiley: I think the Haze hate stems from the frequent delays and the relatively high price. Alot of people are saying it's a decent $40 game but not a $60 game.

zyxwiley - you are off. I play a lot of FPS and Haze ranks as one of the worst, especially when you consider the developer's lineage, the hype behind the game and other FPS that are so much better (i.e. CoD4, Halo 3, Half-Life 2/TF2, Resistance, etc.).

Actually wiley,
I decided to give it a try even after hating the demo. That's right...I gave it a chance anyway. That's probably more than 99% of people did.
Guess what? It still sucked. Play some more games and give yourself a better frame of reference.

ive had this for like a week, your lagging, and Im 9th in Swamp and climbing!!!

I played the demo and enjoyed myself. I don't think, from that short run, that it's a bad game at all. The fact that it was a PS3 exclusive and didn't blow people's minds is why it's hated. Had it been on both systems, I think more people would have enjoyed it...at least as many people that enjoyed the decent Assassins Creed...Consider Bioshock, everyone went crazy over that game...and it's pretty good, but now that it's coming to PS3, it just doesn't feel as special...

Yeah people had high expectations of it and to be honest, COD4 ruined it for everyone. The bar is set so high now that you have to make something perfect to meet or beat expectations now. Thankfully MGS4 does this.

WHY THE HELL IS THIS SITE SO SLOW LATELY
T-P-M @ Jun 12th 2008 10:31AM
Unfortunatly 1.04 doesn't fix the router issue a lot of people are having (me included) which prevents any online play!
Neil @ Jun 12th 2008 12:07PM
This patch wont fix the mediocrity. It's not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination but at $60 it's far from worth buying....its more a good rental than a good buy.
T-P-M @ Jun 12th 2008 12:13PM
It's $40 in most stores now.
SimbaDogg @ Jun 12th 2008 2:16PM
i'll think about it if it ever hits the $20 bin...
HektikLyfe @ Jun 13th 2008 12:26PM
Don't. The day this hits the bin there will already be better titles in there.
HektikLyfe @ Jun 12th 2008 2:42PM
I distinctly remember a lot of us acknowledging the fact that this game, from its character design down to the gameplay mechanics and storyline were uninspired.
Its a shooter. It works. It's not broken. That doesn't make it a good game.
I played through the demo and I had fun I guess but I wouldn't buy the game when there are so many better shooters out there that trump this title in every category.
