Battlefield: Bad Company pokes fun at certain 'snake' hero

We love game collaborations. We love it even more when competing companies take playful potshots at the other's product. In this case, Battlefield: Bad Company calls out a certain tactical espionage hero in this new trailer. We guess they're trying to tell us it's time to move on from that 'other game' and switch the fight over unto a new battlefield. Playful humor, or aggressive competition? Whatever the purpose of this trailer was, all we know is that it's pretty funny stuff. Check it out.

The demo for that game had some god awful analog stick movement.

The engine showed promise though. But the gameplay sucked.

Sorry DICE. Go back to making RalliSport games. I loved those.

You don't want to get into a competition with MGS. Especially considering how bad the single player of that Bad Company demo was. I'd like to see if this sells even close to how many copies MGS4 sold, despite being on only one system.

Anyhow, I thought it was good. MGS 4 is one of the best games I've ever played and I still liked that. In case you guys missed it, MGS4 poked fun at FPS games, too. On the cover of the Playboy Magazine it says "FPS Games: Can you believe we used to buy those?" or something similar. I recall one of the MGS4 trailers stating "FPS? This is MGS" to make fun of the FPS genre.

The engine was cool in the demo, in terms of blowing up stuff, but the core mechanics felt a little week, in terms of movement, felt a lot like a floating head to me, or maybe I'm just spoiled from CoD4... the multi-player was cool the way the rules were set up, I had fun.
Single player was O.K.
Video made me laugh.
MGS4 is awesome.
Totally awesome.

Huge DICE and Kojima Prod fan, MGS4 and BFBC are must haves. I can't believe both of them are releasing their latest and greatest this month. Doesn't get any better.

Just FYI, I was talking about the cinematics' dialogue, which in MGS4 is unrealistically slow. (Maybe translations are to blame?)

BFBC seems to have some of the most realistic looking dialogue (and script) judging from the online clips and demo. I'm not saying the game itself can touch MGS4, that's a different thing altogether. But both are beautiful!

True, this has got to be the best summer for gaming in years. Usually nobody releases anything good, let alone AAA blockbusters like MGS4, in the summer.

I guess Sony said "what better time to release the best videogame ever made and an 80GB super bundle?". Works for me.
