Horror in space never looked so good, Dead Space screens

With the likes of Dead Space and BioShock coming this fall, it looks like we'll have a good amount of bone-chillingly scary shooters in time for Halloween. Dead Space, especially -- just look at the freaky screenshots. It's horror ... in space. Glad to say, this interstellar thriller looks like it's going to be good ... unlike Jason X.

I thought the same thing, too. The edges are choppy as hell and the screens look pixelated. The lighting looks good, but that still doesn't cut it for me. There needs to be a major improvement in the graphics category for me to want this game.

I also beg to differ...Jason X was awesome! You must have missed the part when they made him think he was at Crystal Lake and he proceeded to beat one girl in a sleeping bag with another girl in a sleeping bag. Then he broke his meat bat on a tree. I'm not sure what movie you were watching, but the one I saw was a superb film!!

I dunno, for the cliche setting and subject matter (coridoors, space and aliens) I think they are doing a decent enough job. I mean unless something is inventive (as in the movie sunshine) your going to get the same ole same ole when it comes to things like this.

The trick is, can they create a compelling atmosphere that will deliver the promised thrills. After all a game does not have to be graphically groundbreaking to be compelling. (but it sure does help....I'm looking at you MGS4) :)

Guys, quit blasting a game for being "unoriginal" whilst touting MGS4 as Jesus in game form. (It's amazing, btw I'm not knocking MGS4 - one of the best games I've played) - Originality isn't everything and for all we know DS is going to have lots of it. The dismemberment thing is a nice theme.

Graphically Dead Space is looking nice, i dont know what sort of crazy-glasses some people are wearing.

Could go either way - at least they've put a lot of thought into story and art direction.
