Even though Unreal Engine 3 troubles are hindering the development of this multi-platform title on the PS3, we're still looking forward to The Last Remnant. Given this new stream of screenshots featuring battles as well as a lot of excellent concept art from Famitsu, our anxiety for a firm PS3 release rises further. Check them out and keep your fingers crossed for more information soon.
All of the battle scenes look like the same generic battles from games like Dynasty Warriors, or Nintey Nine Nights. You're in a brown canyon, fighting lots of enemies... The "epic battle" games get old fast. Why venture down this route. I much preferred FF XII's gameplay than this. It seems like the jRPG factories are trying to find new identities in this "Next Gen" era.
Final Fantasy has been a no-show for a while now. Videos of FMV don't count. Everything else Square-Enix has shown off for next-gen just looks rather bland. Star Ocean had some possibilities, but this Xbox exclusivity non-sense just turned me off to it. Square-enix just lost 28 million, and moved a game series that sold better in Japan than it did here on a console that doesn't sell well in Japan. Does Square-enix hate money? It certainly appears that they do.

Everything looks brown. I'll pass. Is the engine having trouble rendering colors other than generally brown?
