Grand Theft Auto IV patch finally here

Well, finally. We were hoping this would come sooner, but better late than never, no? The widely reported problems of "freezes during certain modes" and "multiplayer connectivity issues" finally have a remedy -- a patch has just been released by Rockstar for Grand Theft Auto IV. An apology was also included in the patch notes, along with details of each problem resolved.

Oops, just did some checking and MGS4 did get patched........The beta that is.....and because they had a beta.......I have a smooth running game..........How sweet it is?....

ughhh yea gta got boring VERY FAST.

i emailed ps3fanboy. Cuz i think Rockstar thinks too highly of themselves. EA should hold out because they cant keep putting out the same kind of GTA's . I think rockstar has seent he highest they will ever be worth and will be begging for EA to offer what they initially did

Wow hmmmm i didn't have the freezing prob.. but i stopped playing 3 days in... just can't do it. I play more Bourne, CoD4 and MGS4 to care. I think i will trade it in while i still get money for it.. unless i know a sucker that wants it :) i rather sell it to them than Gamestop!.. or is best buy starting that too? heh

Bit of a misleading title and article. the actual list of fixes mentions nothing of a fix for the widely reported inability to access the online feature of this game.

I hear you Im in teh same boat. Love GTA, played (almost) all of them since part 1... but man no matter what

Good game but not the industry standard like I thought it would be.... about to finish it the game and have to say will prolly trade it in because the online modes in this game do nothing for me either patched or not... Id rather play CoD4 for my online gaming fix still

Popfrogs is absolutely correct. I HATE GTA 4 multiplayer. The LAG. The GLITCHES. The RANDOM LOADING. TARGET LOCK? REALLY? I have to press triangle like TEN TIMES before my dude enters the vehicle he's standing right next to, and that's only where the frustration starts. It's just awful. EVERYTHING sucks about the multiplayer. EVERYTHING. I have to wonder how GTA4 got all those perfect review$ in the first place....

Is anyone else having their PS3's restart when quitting? This just started for me after updating. It says "please wait..." then beeps 3 times and restarts... very strange :S

mine used to do that 5 times out of 10 (only on gta).....its called bad programming :) the patch seemed to have fixed it for me.

i love my GTA4, when the only isn't laggy and i don't have to wait 20 minutes to get a room with a descent amount of ppl, then i love it, so hopefully this fixes that, mine never froze to the point of having to shut it off. I still need mgs4, it's like the rest of the mgs games, i did play it to know, and gta is the same formula as other gta games, they both just added a few things, which make the games that much sweeter.
