PSN offline on June 24th for scheduled maintenance

The PLAYSTATION Network will be down tomorrow, June 24th, from the hours of 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM Pacific Standard Time. Just as a heads up, you won't be able to access the Store and/or play online games on the PSN. During the downtime, read a book or play on your PSP. Or, if you're at work, this shouldn't affect you, now should it?

~~Is this maintenance to implement firmware v2.40?! We'll find out tomorrow!~~

I wonder what this would have to do with 2.40? Are the Trophies internal for only you to see? or will they be shared globally like you can on XBL w/ friends?

Well as of now only you would be able to see them unless each game will have a tab or keeps track with a online thing. Trophy is mainly for Home when that comes out. You can display any trophy you got most likely the hard ones you achieved. When people "visit" you.

Agreed. The wishful thinking side of me says this is somehow related to a new feature that will soon be release but the logical thinking side of me says this is just some housekeeping and maybe a minor tweek here or there for stability and accessibility.

Whatev, I'll be asleep and then at work. I wish Konami would improve the stability of their servers, getting on MGO is a bitch.

Beta was the same way, nearly every game had bullet lag and there's nothing more blatant than you and the guy you were shooting at BOTH dying of headshots at the same time.

The 1.1 update said it was tweaked to take some load off the Konami servers, I guess they're just getting buried.

I've never had lag in MGO. If a player in a game has lag then him and him only will teleport around. The rest of the players remain unaffected. Same goes for my cousin. Neither of us have ever played a laggy game.

I had problems getting online in the MGO Beta but that was because it was a beta. It's likely the the problems you're on about are due to your connection and not Konmai's servers.

The same thing happened for the PS store... but maybe its justa tweak so it can support trophies. But im also confused because 2.40 supposed to come out at the end of june..aaaaargh!!

Umm, the 2.40 Update seems likely. Where is the source stating this "maintenance" is NOT in preparation for the the 2.40 update Alan?

Lol, regularly scheduled. Sorry, but I'm a bit skeptical. Regularly scheduled? From my knowledge, the PSN has only had one maintenance, and that was to implement the new store.
