Quantic Dream considers working on second new title
Quantic Dream, currently only working on the PS3-exclusive Heavy Rain, is having thoughts about changing its one game mantra and might be planning to work on a second title. Co-CEO and executive producer Guillaume de Fondaumière had said at his Paris GDC session today: "Our strategy was to create one big game for next-gen, but it's only now that we're thinking of creating two games with two studios."Previously, the developer had plans to work on Omikron 2: Karma and some new IP called Infraworld. Development on Omikron 2 was stopped two years ago due to shifting all resources onto Heavy Rain. Infraworld was canned before that because publishers wouldn't bite. However, now, both these titles might be taken out of the trash bin and put back on the drawing board, if Fondaumière is serious about starting work on a second title. A second title would be great for Quantic Dream fans, especially if that title were to be the Omikron sequel.

Hashbrown Hunter @ Jun 23rd 2008 3:14PM
I hope they show something....ANYTHING about it @ E3 this year.

Please, please, please, please, no matter what you do Cage (et al), flesh the story out completely. No more tanking games halfway through.
Also of note, someone having sex with a frozen corpse is a deal breaker, let's try to avoid that from now on.

Omicron Persei 8? :D

How about Fahrenheit 2 (Indigo Prophesy)? That was one of my most favorite PS2 games and it was grossly underrated.
mathab @ Jun 23rd 2008 3:41PM
Heavy Rain is pretty much Fahrenheit 2. In a spiritual sense.
BlackFreefall @ Jun 23rd 2008 3:46PM
Couldn't they just focus on giving the media more information about Heavy Rain before starting on the next project?
Nineteen88 @ Jun 23rd 2008 3:56PM
I have my doubts about this game, mainly because its graphics are too good to be true. Let's get a firm release date please!

Hey there internets,
Question to you all, I was looking at info on Heavy Rain from ign.com and in one of the interviews they state that they are working on not only the PS3 but the xbox 360 and PC as well. Note, this was back in June of 2006 could have changed by then but does anyone have an updated source?
"IGN: There has been a lot of speculation since E3 that Heavy Rain will go "PS3 only" because of where it was showed. Any truth to that or can we expect to see it on multiple systems?
Fondaum're: We hear and read a lot of things lately on Heavy Rain. All I can say is: not everything is true and nothing is written in stone as we speak. For now, Quantic Dream is working on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms." -ign.com June 7, 2006

Oh and Fondaumi're full name is Guillaume de Fondaumi're and he's the COO and Executive Producer.

360 and PC versions got scrapped shortly after that interview took place.

Pic=Heavy Rain...ha ha. I get it.
mat parker @ Jun 23rd 2008 4:46PM
Heavy Rain is basically Sony's Alan Wake due to Sony hovering up the publishing rights

I hope quantic dream does make another game for the PS3. I love adventure games and Heavy Rain looks great. So more games for the PS3 is great. Plus having more adventure games on the PS3 will show Yoshida people like games without ONLINE.
MexicanTerrorist @ Jun 23rd 2008 5:56PM
Considering we've seen extremely little of Heavy Rain so far, how about we try to finish Heavy Rain first before going all over possibly up to two more games?
playcrackthesky @ Jun 23rd 2008 7:48PM
How about you actually finish your first title and then we can talk about a second.
Bloody hell, we need things to come out quickly and with quality, no time to get onto other projects yet.
Niko_Bellic @ Jun 23rd 2008 10:01PM
@mat parker -- Yeah, I was gonna say just that. Both games were gonna be multiplatform, early on. (Alan Wake is actually listed among cancelled PS3 games; it's still on PC.) As far as both games are considered, I just wanna know when they'll be out.
