New Dead Space video looks pretty hot

This new gameplay video for this year's Halloween release, Dead Space, shows some of the game's combat and exploration. Frankly, it looks pretty good, but we don't feel particularly scared. From the look of things the protagonist is quite well armed, so monsters are only an inconvenience, and not a threat. Hopefully the story and will offer a few scares, instead.

Things that impressed us in this video include the wall-jumping, which allows you to walk on seemingly any surface you can see. We also appreciate the sci-fi elements that pop up. The way the HUD elements pop up in mid-air, leaving the screen uncluttered is quite stylish. Check out the video above and you, like us, could soon be looking forward to Halloween for reasons other than dressing up like a prat.

Uhhh...JEM.....what in the he** do you see in this game that even makes it vaguely compelling??

Could it be because it is one of the first multiplatform games to use the PS3 as the lead platform???

@frankym -- Yeah I'd like to know as well. PS3 has far more interesting EXCLUSIVES on the horizon. I don't want to hear about RE4 in outer space. They really ought to come up with a better title, when they get the chance.

ehh...i don't really see what is all that impressive either. the enemy AI looks especially lethargic and simple (unless this is an early level or difficulty).

we have all seen the anti-gravity boot thing before.

I'm gonna put my neck on the line and say that this will be a 8 or 9/10 game that nobody expects. I've got a great feeling about it.

Wasn't the original game concept not to include guns?

The thing with the three laser beams is only supposed to be a blade, but I guess it's now a gun.

This game officially looks effing amazing. Its finally going on my must buy list. And PS3 being the lead platform doesn't hurt ;)

I think it looks quite interesting. I like the way you move in zero G, to get to other levels. The strategic dismemberment is an interesting element as well. The key thing is how repetitive will they make it.

The game looks nice visually but like you said, you got powerful weapons and you kill everything easily.

Although getting overrun by monsters is a bit scary, I don't like it when games spawn creatures out of know where just for the sake of it (the bit at the lift), they weren't behind him when he walked in!

Camera kinda looks boring, just follows you around and you can't really get a scope view or anything to take better shots at the targets, but maybe the player just liked to blast away.

Dunno, but I ain't really feeling the game, but hey it's still under development so I'll wait for it!

the game got more interesting to me. i never watched any of the trailers before. the wall jumping thing was pretty cool and i hope it turns out to be a good game.

Then after that, I'll probably be playing Dead Space.

This game never looked better... i watched the previous trailers... but it was kinda "MEH..." With this new video the game looks more interesting and its a possible buy for me, depending on the reviews.

Lets not hype this game that much... so it does not turn out to be a big flop.

H4.5ZE anyone?
