Transformers on Blu-ray revealed and dated
After all the drama with Michael Bay threatening to drop out of Transformers 2 because Transformers wasn't released on Blu-ray, we thought you guys would like to know the movie is finally coming out on Blu-ray September 2nd. The date was announced a while back, but now we have the box-art and details concerning the release. The box-art looks more or less like the DVD/HD-DVD releases, but Blu-ray will have an additional feature of Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround audio that was missing from the HD-DVD release. Other features include audio commentary with Michael Bay, two four-part documentaries, a featurette, still gallery and trailers. It will also be BD-Live-enabled with details to be announced later.

people who buy movies scare me..especially this flick. gawd it was horrendous. the scene in the yard looking for the glasses -i want those 15 minutes back
Wayne @ Jun 25th 2008 8:19AM
unless your some loser who hasn't stopped collecting your plastic transformers action figures you'll love this movie. Movie critics, comic book geeks and action figure collectors ALWAYS hate movies based on their passion.
Deadpool @ Jun 24th 2008 8:18PM
Oh yeah! I almost forgot about this movie going to Blu-ray. To think it would take this long to get it to Blu-ray when everyone knew it should have been there in the first place.
What's HD-DVD anyway?
Daniel @ Jun 24th 2008 8:20PM

Daniel @ Jun 24th 2008 11:13PM
great but you are not the only human alive...thanks.
Just cuz it's old to you, doesn't mean the whole world knows it instantly at the second that you read it.
reson8er @ Jun 25th 2008 10:13AM
^^
That may be true, but I personally sent this as a "tip" to PS3Fanboy when the news originally broke (from Blu-ray.com). Seems they have save the story for a slow news day (or ignored my submission)
Xoviet chiK @ Jun 24th 2008 11:26PM
Now all Blu-Ray needs is Stardust and Children of Men and I can box my HD-DVD Player up for good...
I could have lived without Transformers, but it's progress I guess :D
Mastermind360 @ Jun 24th 2008 11:31PM

I have to agree. ILM & co. are absolutely amazing! ... But it's still a typical Bay film.
Ether02 @ Jun 25th 2008 1:35AM

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this was a terrible, terrible movie. I'd rather have watched the original animated cartoon than this junk.
But that's just me...I mean I enjoyed Cloverfield so whatyagonnado?
Twinturbo120 @ Jun 25th 2008 10:28AM
SHWEEEETT its coming out on my birthdaY!!!!
Martez @ Jun 25th 2008 1:25PM
I won't buy it right away for $30, but I will pick it up when it's cheap for some good old fashioned HD eye candy. I'm not sure if I'm referring to the CG or Megan Fox... I guess both.
Shahryar @ Jun 25th 2008 2:17PM
I'm on the same boat. I thought the movie was alright, but the action sequences were fun. I think it'll be nice to look at.
I'm more excited to buy all the movies that came out this year. Iron Man and Hulk were probably the best movies I've seen this year so far (surprisingly, the trailers didn't look that good). And I'm expecting Dark Knight to be the best thing Warner Brothers has put out since Batman Begins (Superman Returns was probably the biggest disappointment in the world of movies for me - not the worst movie, but the most disappointing one).
How come the surround isn't 7.1 yet in newer movies? I'm hoping to have a 7.1 surround system in place over the next few months.
