Novastrike to get significant update (and European release) in August
Did you download Novastrike? It's PSN's first self-published game from independent studio Tiki Games. The game got a rough start when it released a few weeks ago, but after listening to player feedback, the developers are going to adjust the game and make it even more accessible to the masses. The biggest complaint with the title appears to be the relentless difficulty: "These modes were meant to be along the lines of casual, normal, and hard difficulty. Based on responses we've seen so far it looks like we ended up with something more like hard, harder, and hardest. Umm, oops?"
A new update, planned for August, will not only rebalance the difficulty to make it feasible for mortals, it will also give fully customizable controls, a new fine-aim mode for weapons, and a larger player ship to make it easier to see the action. Most excitingly, PSN trophies will also be supported (with fifteen being added to the game).
Once these tweaks are done, the patch will be made available for all that purchased the game already. In addition, this newly updated version of Novastrike will be made available for European gamers as well. We're rooting for you, Tiki Games -- as an independent developer exclusively supporting PlayStation, we certainly commend your efforts.

It was a decent game. Multiplayer support (Same screen) would have really made it something though, IMO.
I wonder if it'll still feel slow after the update.

glad they made the ship larger b/c it hurt my eyes staring at the tiny dot which was my ship. Other than that I like the game it true that its kinda hard though.

It's probably very easy to mess up difficulty levels when you are a small developer with probably no real QA team or outside testers. I know if I worked on a game for many months, I'd get good at it and my view of difficulty levels would be automatically skewed. I'm glad they're fixing it, as I bought the game just to support the little guys, and I'm glad they don't take that for granted. It is not as bad a game as the reviews say, but it is relentlessly hard right now, for sure. I hope they do add online support some day, even if it costs a bit extra to add-on like Super Stardust HD's Solo add-on did.

this was Really Hard, Umm I thought I've played these before, no biggie, set it on soldier and got quite the shock, Even on Recuit it's a REAL challenge.

Yay, how about a demo that reflects these changes? Or even releasing the whole game but having it time locked unless you purchase the full version?
