Dissidia: Final Fantasy website updated with story and characters
The Japanese website of Dissidia: Final Fantasy has just been updated with new material. The story, characters, screenshots, credits, and general game information are now available for viewing. Clicking on Story will lead you to a short scene of the Warrior of Light from the original Final Fantasy readying his sword followed by a synopsis of the story. Under Characters you can view characters from Final Fantasy I, II, VII VIII, and IX and their corresponding screenshots. Noticeably absent are the most popular characters, those from Final Fantasy VII and X. Under Info you will find credits and general information about the game. Come check out everything here.

Awwww men , all these new screens make me want this game even more :( To bad we probably wont play this for more than a year :(

The site has characters from ff1, ff2, ff8, ff9.
The site is missing characters from ff3, ff4, ff5, ff6, ff7, ff10, ff12.

XII characters probably won't be in the game. Nomura said in a recent interview that there would be only 20 characters, but that there would be some surprises.

the square enix members jp has a trailer supposedly
vagrant1223 @ Jun 26th 2008 5:59AM
It does. The Japanese "Square Enix Members" site has a 3:39 long trailer that you can view if you sign up for an account there.

Of course they had to make it flash instead of embedded video, which makes it really hard to download it or to share with non-members. :(

@vagrant1223: How did you sign up? I get stuck in the process where I'm asked to enter a mobile number or something.

It's on Youtube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=27U6KAOXFYs

you kind of failed to mention in the post that its all in Japanese. unless I just don't see a button to switch it to english.
Bodachi @ Jun 26th 2008 10:10AM
Little spelling mistake there you said they have VII and then say its missing
Christopher @ Jun 26th 2008 8:23AM
He meant FF VIII. Squall and Ultimecia are there.
Bodachi @ Jun 26th 2008 8:51AM
yeah I noticed that since I can see the picture

The only doubt I have about this one is the gameplay. In the vids it looks great, but no one can say it until playing the stuff.
The rest, it's awesome. I can no longer wait. I'll prolly not even wait for it coming in english. And the CGs in the new trailer. Sephirtoh fighting Squall was epic.
Only wish someone would translate the story part of the site. Just to make sure it's not too... ahn... absurd.

The Emperor has more of a man-voice than I'd've expected (wonder what his reborn form(s) would sound like), along with Squall being much deeper-toned than what we've heard in English. Ulti sounds pretty composed (but then, I don't know much about Japanese other than the words "what", "death god/reaper/etc" and "Crystal" were used); think they'll implement that odd "k"-based speech she used in the English version? *forgets what else to've typed* Chaos looks kinda freaky; I'd wish him to be less magma, though, and more sheer fucked-up-ness.

Now I remember: I noticed Sephiroth's shoulder plating looked different, particularly in featuring strips. Bands, really. Based-on-Amano's-art indeed.
