PSN friends list now capped at 100? [Update]

[Update: It's true. We've reached a maximum of 100. Thanks everyone who participated. Your effort is greatly appreciated!]

We put a question mark at the end of the headline because we're not entirely sure if this is true. We haven't heard anything officially confirmed. The thought nonetheless is intriguing, so we want to see if there is any truth to this.

To find out, we're going to put our PSN ID: PSFanboy out there and see how many friends we can hold in our list. Want to help out in our pursuit of truth and statistically counting our popularity? Then add us up! We'll update later in the day with our findings.

It can't be too much of a worry to many people really. Highlighted by the fact that even you lot have to advertise your PSN name on your site to actually reach 100 friends!

Although I guess the potential is higher when more networking features are added.

My friends list was maxed out at 100 months ago, I don't think its anything new. (I used to add all the players under "recently met" as friends)

All I can say is thank goodness for this. I always got annoyed at the fact I could only add 50 people to my FL as I have more than 50 friends (am a member of a large Playstation community/clan and help out with official events on the PlayStation.com forum) so this is great news for me. I used to say screw custom soundtracks, I just need am FL increase and in-game messaging but it irritated me that all people went on about was getting to play their own music. Buy a seperate CD player you fools!
