Any RPG is welcome, but really, so far, this looks like a PS2 game to me.
Devin @ Jun 26th 2008 12:49PM
Exactly, I'm not seeing these "enhanced graphics" they speak of. MGS4 has raised the bar substantially IMO and games need to be somewhat close and this game is nowhere close
PS3Darklighter @ Jun 26th 2008 12:13PM
I just hope this is an actual RPG. By that I mean I want it to be turn based with a strong story. I am sick and tired of people labeling any game with a medieval fantasy setting as an RPG (Oblivion, Diablo). PS3 needs more true RPGs. The only one we have is Enchanted Arms and that one is in no way amazing.
Brodie-san @ Jun 26th 2008 1:17PM
Does Folklore count as a "true" RPG in your opinion?
PS3Darklighter @ Jun 26th 2008 4:44PM
Folklore is NOT an RPG. Neither is Zelda.
Those games are adventure games which are not RPGs.
Organic_Shadow @ Jun 26th 2008 4:53PM
Well the article above DOES say action-rpg... so...
GRT @ Jun 26th 2008 12:22PM
Sweet! One less game I'll have to get on the 360.
Fiddlesworth @ Jun 26th 2008 12:24PM
The character styling isn't that attractive to me but "looks like a PS2 game", are you kidding me?
You sir, are talking out of your rear-end.

"drop-in co-op play and other online multiplayer modes."
Sounds like co-op is online?
"Through the drop-in co-op play, players can simply pick up an extra controller and press Start to jump in."
Sounds like co-op is offline?
If it's both - that's awesome. But it's not too clear in the post... I could go for another online co-op game, for sure.
ComicShaman @ Jun 26th 2008 12:37PM
The offline co-op is the feature that's got me the most interested in this one, actually. I hope it's actually a feature they include.
Anton @ Jun 26th 2008 12:35PM
It's not turn based (thank god, it's not the 90's anymore) if it's anything like the first one, it's a Diabloesque Hack'n'slash dungeon crawler.
True_Darknight @ Jun 26th 2008 12:36PM
SOOOOOO this is what they meant by we are an RPG machine!!!!
Bring them on!!! this, White Knight.. and ofc anything FF!!!
Wooo I can't wait for E3!!!! the heavy guns will come out blazing... God of War 3... God of War 3.... OH man I want to play that sooo badly :)
Logion @ Jun 26th 2008 12:38PM
I'm glad. I just kept an eye at this game because of the music that's performed by the metal band Blind Guardian and because of the spoken offline co-op.

"Role-playing game enthusiasts have always been strongly represented on the PLAYSTATION® platforms"....UNTIL PS3
I hope they don't expect to make any money on this loaf. It looks like Limbo of the Lost. Wait a minute.. are those Chronicles of the White Knight backgrounds?!
ryan @ Jun 26th 2008 1:35PM
so far it looks exactly like the 360/pc versions. of course they may be talking about frame rate and popping also.
basil ghazi @ Jun 26th 2008 7:07PM

SpinDrMario @ Jun 26th 2008 10:40PM
The game is an Action RPG. Think hack-n-slash along the lines of Diablo II or Titan Quest. The graphics, up close, look fantastic on all three platforms.
The campaigns can be played single-player or one can invite friends to join in cooperatively. This can be done via the same console off-line, or online with multiple PS3s.
The characters transfer seamlessly, thus you can play the "single-player campaign" and at any time things get to tough or you're feeling social, you open the game up to your "friends" and they can join you. That opens up unique party drops and monsters adjust dynamically to adjust difficulty for your party composition.
There's also PvP and PvE.

Killzone is going to raise the graphics when it comes out in february, too high for the 360 to reach with its capabilities. And what the hell do you mean PS3Darklighter, an RPG is a role playing game, turn based has nothing to do with it, even the leveling most people associate with an RPG isn't necessary.
