Retail hints at one-month SOCOM Confrontation delay

Could it be? Is another anticipated PS3 game getting a delay? Maybe. But don't sweat this one! Gamestop customers have been notified that their upcoming pre-orders for SOCOM Confrontation may be delayed a month. Originally scheduled for a September release, it appears that the Slant Six team is getting an extra month to polish the title. The new release date? October 14th.While this date has yet to be confirmed, we're told that the official SOCOM blog at SOCOM.com will update tomorrow with an official response. Stay tuned.

Booo...well kinda expected it, the beta still hasn't even started....hopefully LBP comes out September, then Socom October, and Rock Band 2 November.

Maybe its has to do with manuf. of them slick new headsets. Either way I am sure it will be worth the wait.

youre right. THis may cause a domino affect since Sony doesn't want to release too many good games at the same time. KZ2 is will now be delayed to Summer 09.

I think they needed the extra month. The game looks good from what I've seen recently but they need more time to polish it up.

The Headset is all I want they should reveal it at E3 and mass market it in August.

Hopefully some big-wig at Sony looked at the what /6 had done too the franchise, and the disgust that was apparent on the socom.com boards and stepped in and made them fix the game.
I can only wish this is what happened.

Well I thought by now they would have known how to program for the PS3s' Blu Ray as if it were DVD and plus this is a FP Developer. I know Square ain't a FP Developer for Sony but come on FFX was one of the best visuals the PS2 shown it pushed the limits and then God of War did better but not by a lot and then Gosd of War 2 push the PS2 passed its limits.
Sony what's up with ya I mean you won the format war but the format ain't doing much to help.

Do you guys realyl believe all of this stealing sales crap? I know that being a fanboy can be blinding, but it's getting vwery obvious that even Sony is having trouble getting things to run on their system. 2 years to get trophies, in-games xmb, and custom soundtracks. LBP, Killzone 2, Socom all pushed back as well as many third party games.
How come Resistance 2 was able to come out before Killzone 2 which was announced 2 years ago?

As of today Amazon still has the preorder listed as 09/16. No mention of the headset there, either...
