Life-sized Solid Snake for sale
Size matters folks. Those puny six inch Solid Snakes that came with Euro Limited Ed. MGS4s are not enough to satisfy. You need something big -- real big. Like, how about a six foot Solid Snake? That's sure to please.
This retail promotional statue comes all the way from Italy and has a starting bid on eBay at around €1,990. It's a pretty steep price to pay, but that's what happens when you call yourself a collector. Even if you're not planning on bidding, check out the auction for more pics of this immortalization of one of the greatest videogame heroes.

I'll wait for a Solid snake garden gnome.
Sniper Wolf @ Jul 2nd 2008 1:27PM
I would buy that in a second.
ComicShaman @ Jul 2nd 2008 3:02PM
You could always put a cardboard box in your yard and pretend he's under it. It's an economical alternative.
Martez @ Jul 2nd 2008 1:22PM
Creepy.
reson8er @ Jul 2nd 2008 1:35PM
Wasn't there the exact same thing reported being sold at Costco or an equivalent? I could have sworn I've seen this before.
ANTCEP @ Jul 2nd 2008 1:25PM

Gaucho @ Jul 2nd 2008 1:28PM
something about this thing doesnt look right. I already have a life-size Stephen Colbert cut-out, getting this would really seal the deal on my needed to get out more.

I think it looks too young. They should have made more wrinkles around the eyes and cheeks. Like the bottom half of the face is perfect but if you cover that part and only look at the top you can't really tell if he is old or not.

With that life sized doll Old Snake look alot younger than in MGS4. It's like he's young again yet he's dyed his moustache and hair grey.
Actually... it looks like the doll's moustache is white and the hair is grey. It's still pretty neat though, although way too expensive.
Rowdehaj @ Jul 2nd 2008 2:38PM
A store near where I live has the young snake model ... this looks like it's a slightly retouched model of that. It's not even very well done. 1900 bucks for that? Never.
Lordtombot @ Jul 2nd 2008 1:46PM
Inuendo. Tee hee.
Popfrogs @ Jul 2nd 2008 2:45PM
Call me when it has real hair. ;)

In the auction it insists that this statue is very, very rare. This is unlikely the case seeing as I have already personally seen two of these statues and neither were in Italy. One was in Madrid and the other was in a Virgin store in Paris. This is steep price to pay for something that is not a one off. But to be honest it is a pretty impressive statue in real life. But 2000 Euro? Honestly?
gaymerps3 @ Jul 2nd 2008 3:39PM
Does the statue have/show Snake's ass cheeks?
If it does I'm bidding on it!!
MMMHEYYY
Metoo @ Jul 2nd 2008 3:55PM
Yeah, if you check the Flash video on the listing, you can see it. It looks a bit flat because he's kneeling down. ;-0
gaymerps3 @ Jul 2nd 2008 4:30PM
Flat? Hmmm. It sure don't look flat in the game.
mheyyy
Autopsy15 @ Jul 2nd 2008 4:28PM
I would buy this, but I've already got a life sized Solid Snake...*wink* *wink*
juju187 @ Jul 2nd 2008 5:01PM
