Ive booted up the game but it hasnt asked for a patch :-(
luke_ellis99 @ Jul 4th 2008 4:43PM
yeh same, they have pulled the 4.00 patch for a while! im so annoyed because i bought it JUST to try out some trophies
Mo @ Jul 6th 2008 2:39PM
if you're brave, download the update to a memory stick and update like that... it worked for me
60GB
ldd @ Jul 2nd 2008 12:33AM
So I Guess this is the best time to ask this question:
What if you don't want to have these "trophies", and stay online?
Wait... I can still play without downloading this patch, right?
ok. *I just answered my own question*
but what about other games? I know you can't turn trophies off but... oh well, nothing to complain here.
I hope you guys enjoy it though.
klexam @ Jul 2nd 2008 12:38AM
I have put off buying this game long enough. First game with trophies ... time to make a purchase.
ruibing @ Jul 2nd 2008 12:44AM
Same here. I'm also getting Everyday Shooter while I'm at it.
Mattchewie @ Jul 2nd 2008 1:45AM
@ruibing
EDS is an awesomely addicting game. If you like SSDHD you will dig EDS. Speaking of which, I hope EDS sees a patch for trophy support!

Kodros @ Jul 2nd 2008 2:49AM
I would love EDS a hell of a lot more if you could shoot in every degree instead of just the 45 degree angles.
Snutz @ Jul 2nd 2008 3:01AM
Yeah I just gave in and bought this. Played the demo and it seemed fun, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to pay 10 bucks for it. With trophies and reading reviews about how it is actually pretty complex for a top down shooter I couldn't resist any longer. Also in the grand scheme of things I could drop 10 bucks on a 2 hour movie, or buy this.
Paul (PSN: heypaul) @ Jul 2nd 2008 4:44AM
Pretty good marketing on Sony's part, huh? Now that SSDHD is the only current game with trophies, a lot more people will buy it.
And Kodros, I completely agree with you. Only being able to shoot in eight directions pretty much negates having analog controls. I actually find it helps to just use the face buttons instead of the sticks.
Lars @ Jul 2nd 2008 6:37PM
The creator of Everyday shooter said he didn't like using the analog stick and programmed it with the buttons in mind (analog shooting was an afterthought). It does actually play better using the buttons, but it takes some getting used to.
Unfortunately he also said that he has no plans to revisit the game with updates... :~(
PirateThom @ Jul 2nd 2008 12:41AM
The patch is live, but everytime I click "OK", It says "Please Wait" and then my PS3 just resets back to the XMB.
Pain needed a patch (an older one) and it patched fine.
Anton Chigurh @ Jul 2nd 2008 12:51AM
Hey, I'm AlterEgo on n4g lmao
Try what I did (on n4g) i edited my post again
PirateThom @ Jul 2nd 2008 12:57AM
Thanks, yeah, I replied. I just kept trying to download it and it eventually worked, on 26% now. Thank you!
Anton Chigurh @ Jul 2nd 2008 12:40AM
everytime I try to get 4.00 my ps3 restarts itself... =/
Stoo @ Jul 2nd 2008 4:18AM
Mine does the same, pretty annoying. Going to leave it until later today and see what happens.
Samuraidino @ Jul 2nd 2008 12:46AM
Yeah,it was restarting the PS3 for me whenever the game asked for 4.00 but after a few tries it started downloading,I think the games taking a bit of a hit from all the people trying to download the patch at once.

I'm buying this game later today. Any other games that will support trophies on the PSN? Does Pixel Junk Monsters?
Seba501 @ Aug 2nd 2008 10:31PM

djpenny1 @ Jul 2nd 2008 11:27AM

ghettomex @ Jul 2nd 2008 1:08AM
i have beat 3 levels and yet nothing shoed up that i unlock a trophy nor does it show on the trophy section
nobody528 @ Jul 2nd 2008 2:55AM
You have beaten three "phases". Each planet has five phases, so finish two more and you'll get your precious trophy :)

Dakoina @ Jul 2nd 2008 1:11AM
Hmm, well, if you need the co-op expansion to get all trophies, then let's hope we see the co-op expansion today :)
Martez @ Jul 2nd 2008 3:11AM
It's out. It's just not in the store yet. Access it through SSHD's main menu and you can get it.
Paul (PSN: heypaul) @ Jul 2nd 2008 10:53AM
Maybe it's just me, but is anyone else annoyed by the fact that in order to get 100% (and the ever elusive platinum trophy) you have to buy two extra expansions? I currently have ten out of the twelve original trophies, but there are six more that I can't get unless I pay $10 more, one of which is the platinum. Instead, I'm stuck at 51% and level 2.
I'd be completely fine with extra trophies for expansion packs, as long as you could still get the platinum and 100% without having to purchase additional content. Why not make the additional content worth another 50% or so on top of the 100%? For example, have a blue bar over the regular green one that shows a total of 150% when you've completed everything in the expansions? Xbox's system of 1000 points for a regular game plus X amount extra for expansions would've been wise to copy in this regard.
Also, it seems that in order to get your trophies to show up in your gamercard, you will have compare trophies with someone else or they will have to compare with you. Pretty crappy system, but my guess is it's so you can still earn trophies offline; you just have to resync to the PSN to officially register them.

This is retarded, Im trying to update tha 4.00 patch, but my damn PS3 either starts downloading and stops at 1%, or it just keeps restarting my PS3, now it has actually froze up my PS3, WTF!!!!!
VanillaMummy @ Jul 2nd 2008 1:15AM
Am I the only one having difficulty downloading the patch. Every time I try to it says "Please Wait" for 2 minutes then says an error has occurred. Any tips?
Beseiged @ Jul 2nd 2008 1:23AM
It seems that after patching there is actually something you can purchase in the Super Stardust HD Store. Its a team pack for $4.99.
Dakoina @ Jul 2nd 2008 1:31AM
Ah yes, the Team pack :) sweet (I mistakenly thought it was the co-op expansion, but it's a team expansion)
I'd love to play that expansion with my friends!
Martez @ Jul 2nd 2008 3:12AM
Team Pack has co-op play.
xino @ Jul 2nd 2008 1:31AM
For SSHD (from the NeoGAF posts) Cancel out of updating (hit circle) load the game, go to the in-game store and update form there. I hear that's working much better for most people. I'm still waiting on mine to download. If you just update without going to the store, alot of people are having a problem when it's installing (black screen, crash to XMB, etc.)
Hope this helps. ;)

Mike @ Jul 2nd 2008 2:15AM
We only have the Solo expansion on the UK store. When does the other one hit the store?
Martez @ Jul 2nd 2008 3:13AM
Did you check the store through SSHD? It's not showing up on the "official" store, but you can download it through the game.
Aaron @ Jul 2nd 2008 2:13AM
For Close Encounters, you can't use boost either. It should read "Close Encounters - Survive 45 seconds without shooting or using bombs or boost in Survival*"
The G Fatha @ Jul 2nd 2008 7:09PM
Yes you can, i did it with boosting
pacokorn77 @ Jul 9th 2008 6:38PM
So did I. I had the hardest time getting that trophy, then when I read that some where getting it with and some without boosting I said "screw it," tried, and I got it.
Died at the 47 second marker...
But in regards to the fabled "Team Pack," there is only one pack of DLC in the PS Store, and there's nothing coming up in the SSHD store, either. I have version 4.00, but there isn't jack about the Team Pack. What's up with that?
Mbot @ Jul 2nd 2008 2:19AM
Thanks to Housemarque !
They were the first one to launch a good game on the PSN Store, and they are first again with the trophies !
I hope Sony support this guys !
I really want to know what their next game is going to be, hope it stay a ps3 exclu :p
I hope they do a PSN game again.
go buy Super Stardust HD guys it rock ;)
MatthewJ @ Jul 2nd 2008 2:32AM
I just bought this off PSN store, however it downloaded a 278KB file and then after installation, there was nothing in my Games folder :( My download list says "Super Stardust HD Full Version Key" and it cost be £4.99, so wtf??
Dahk @ Jul 2nd 2008 2:41AM
Lol it's more like an "unlock" of the game, which is why its only 278KB. The content was there, but the game unlocked certain aspects of the game I'm guessing.
I bought off the in-game store rather than the PS Store, so I'm not exactly sure how this works. My guess is you just go into the game and it should install by itself. You should see a star on the start menu item in which new content has been added (depends on the pack you bought).
MatthewJ @ Jul 2nd 2008 2:50AM
so it seems like rather than buying the game outright, you have to first download the demo, and then buy it....bizarre system, but I think I've got it done now, just waiting on the update.
Dahk @ Jul 2nd 2008 2:42AM
And so the Trophy war begins.
Reminds me of the war economy. This Trophy system is all in JD's plans.
bAssackwards @ Jul 2nd 2008 2:55AM
Just got my first few trophies on Super Stardust. =o)
Jeff @ Jul 2nd 2008 4:29AM
For those of you having trouble downloading the patch:
Keep in mind that when it prompts you for an update, it is still background loading the game. When you hit 'OK' the PS3 tries to terminate the game WHILE IT'S STILL LOADING. Just be patient and wait about 10-20 seconds then hit OK. Everything will work just fine.

Martez @ Jul 2nd 2008 4:31AM
How in the hell are you supposed to get 15 bombs in bomber mode? That and the co-op trophy look to be the most difficult.
Da1rocky @ Jul 2nd 2008 10:53AM
Well if this helps blast a bomb behind the bomb carrier and youll get two...farthest I got is 12...you need to be really good at dodging crap
