Deal of the Day (for Midwesterners): Metal Gear Solid 4 $40 at Meijer

Here's an incredible deal on an incredible game: Metal Gear Solid 4 for $39.99. Unfortunately, it has two major restrictions. First, this must be purchased in-store so you must be in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, or Ohio and close to a Meijer. Secondly, this deal only lasts up till tomorrow, the 5th. Considering today is July 4th, the only chance you'll be able to get this deal is July 5th. Fortunately, if you live in these states you are most likely not far from a Meijer and some of them are open 24 hours. At this price, Midwesterners now have zero excuse for not having this certified triple-A title.

Lol, even if you live in one of those states, it might be cheaper to drive to a Wal-Mart, if it is closer, considering gas prices.

How are they selling the game so cheap!?!

Hey guys, this deal was actually a "misprint", with most stores posting a retraction right on the front door. If you were lucky enough to jump on it the first day last Sunday, you actually got it for $34.98 with an instore $5.00 off coupon. Thank God for living a block away from Meijers!....PS...Target has it onsale in next weeks ad for $49.99 AND you get a $10 gift card. So no tears.....Peace

Instead of "wow, what an incredible deal" where is the usual "this is bad news, the game must really suck, price is dropped so quick after release, blah blah blah"?

I just got back from Meijer in Bolingbrook Illinois, and the signs for MGS4 at $59.99 were up, but the game rang up at the register for $39.99, and they have in store $5.00 off coupons.

MGS4, out the door (Including tax) $37.96.

I just picked it up at my local Meijer in Lansing, MI for $39.99 as well. The sale price is not advertised at all, and I did not receive a $5 coupon.

I hadn't really been keeping up on the development of this game, and had no intention of getting it anytime soon. But after reading this post and watching some video reviews after, the sale price was definitely incentive enough to go ahead and buy it.
