Dismembered hand beckons you to Dead Space

Looks like EA is going to continue its theme of dismemberment for the boxart of Dead Space. There is indeed something rather simplistic and beautiful about the boxart though, despite the fact that it consists of a floating body part beckoning unsuspecting space travelers into a deathtrap. There are also 13 new screenshots and concept art, most of them every bit as appetizing as the cover. Not exactly kid's stuff, but horror fans should be in for a treat when Dead Space, whose lead platform is currently the PS3, arrives three days before Halloween on October 28th.

Is the ESRB really going to allow them to use this boxart? I suppose it's not really that graphic, but it's bound to get some complaints.

this game looks awesome. VERY different. I don't know if its the armor plates, the gun lasersights being really cool, or the aliens being freakishly charming, but I am DEFINATELY buying this game

This looks to be an amazing and interesting game.

But he does have a potential point, though his manner is somewhat off putting, this is EA and if the zero gravity features becomes annoying for example. If for instance say, its not very precise and u keep hitting things causing you to have to align yourself again and again to get through a small doorway. By that I mean you have to propel yourself across the room and you can only do it in a certain direction. Could be a bit of a disappointment but I think it will be good.

Unless it is another shitty port....

I will buy an Xbox if I have to lol.

I have been playing video games since the very early days...for over 20 years...and in that time I have developed intuition and a good sixth sense for determining how games will turn out. I have to agree with frankym, this game seems unoriginal, its almost like resident evil 4 set in space.

This game will fail, it has the same aura to it as the game cold fear, a generic mediocre game at best.

I would just like to point out that while it may not be original, you just said that Resident Evil in space doesn't sound AWESOME.
What do you think is lame, exactly? Resident Evil 4 or space? If it's space, I might suggest a movie called Sunshine. If you just hated Resident Evil 4, well, everyone has a right to their opinion and all, I guess, even if it is wrong.
And frankym - You were playing video games when you were -10?
