Street Fighter IV art features Ryu, Ken, Akuma and Gouken

Capcom's blog has posted some art from the earlier anime trailer -- it includes old favorites like Ryu, Ken, and Akuma (Gouki). Gouken is also shown here, described as the master of Ryu and Ken, and the older brother of Akuma, though we are not sure if it is a literal brother or something else. Finally, Capcom teases about animation that will feature Chun-Li around July 24th. Take a look at all the pictures here.

no sheng long is not gouken, gouken is akuma's brother and teacher of ansatsuken to Ryu and Ken. Gouken and Akuma/Gouki were taught by Master Goutetsu. Akuma killed them both, he wears his brother's prayer beads whom he killed for showing weakness in not killing him when he had a chance. basically dogged his brother following the dark hadou. Sheng Long is a reference to the mighty shoryuken dragon punch. basically ryu said "you must deafeat the dragon punch (Sheng Long) to stand a chance" in SF II. It was an april fool's gag that sheng long was 'someone' you could fight if you finished SFII all perfect. people believed it and in response capcom made Akuma a hidden characer in the alpha series.

In the blog, it says "Real" Big Brother, so they are Blood Brothers indeed and Gouken is Sheng Long is I remember my Street Fighter correct but them being brothers is the said for the first time

From everything i know about SF history yes. From what ive heard Sheng Long was originally just a bad translation that became permanent. But Yes Gouki ( japan akuma ) and Gouken are bros.

Sheng Long was originally an april fool's joke by EGM it became sooo widespread that championship edition SF machines became flooded with kids trying to unlock this fighter. Capcom was so amused by this they put in the "You must defeat Sheng Long to stand a chance" victory speech as a way of poking fun at everyone.

EGM then pulled the same gag years later with SFIII.
