This fan made animated short was created by a group of creative and really bored minds called the Duo Group. Titled Metal Gear Solid: Cold Blooded, we're taken through quite an impressively produced piece that pays tribute to the Metal Gear Solid series -- specifically the era of games in which you play as Big Boss. We liked it very much and thought all of you would like to watch it as well. Enjoy.
i kinda did too. the art work was pretty mediocre and the animation wasn't evenly paced and really needed to pick up speed in certain places.
that zoom out (truck out) at the end is a big No-NO after trucking in that long, it totally disorients the viewer and is unneeded.
the helicopters were ok. overall not bad, but not really impressive. the plot and twist have been done before, it didn't feel very Metal Gear to me like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1uYTp0--zE
Why is that even a relevant argument? You don't know who you are talking to in the first place; that coupled with the fact that half of the reason this movie is getting any praise is it being loosely based on the Metal Gear universal (and I use 'loosely' to it's fullest extent).
you certainly do flame, don't you lol. i know who i'm talking to. a guy who spends his days putting down things because he has nothing better to do. regardless of what you consider loosely related to MGS, someone spent time to work on this and share it with people but because you're so awesome, you have to put it down. now go ahead and reply and tell me how your a designer or an animator or a game tester or whatever. flame on, flaming mammoth lol.
No no I'm not going to lie here, I'm just simply not going to be afraid to criticize something just because I don't have the practice in video creation, animation or editing to make a mediocre short like this. No, I am going to criticize this short pile of plagiarism for stealing the plot from MI2 and throwing a Metal Gear skin on a video with bad animation in comparison to other videos with much more compelling (not to mention original) storytelling.
So "themissing," it seems you're living up to your call-name by leaving logic out of the equation. But fine, have fun in your world of defending everything just because you feel everyone is too ignorant to criticize something that you, in turn, most likely also know nothing about.
man, you must be really bored lol...and why do all internet tough guys call people "champ"? ok "champ", cheers "champ", seems pretty unoriginal...kinda like you're plagiarizing the other tough guys lol.
Haha yes I must be copying everyone else when I use a common term to address you, I can't think of any other scenario LOL LOL. But fine, lets talk of boredom when you are responding just as much as I am....
It's called critisism. Without it, stuff like this would get recognition it doesn't deserve and something far superior would potentially be overlooked.
Nicely done guys and can anyone tell me wat is the tittle of the song that was playing at the end and is it in the disk that comes w/ the special edition and if not u know where can i get it? Thz

This is brilliantly animated and produced with the nice twist at the end. Excellent.
- Whats with them "throwing everything they've got" and it being 6 guys out side the cabin.
Still very good.
Brute @ Jul 7th 2008 3:45PM
Pretty good, I liked the ending.
theblackandwhiteknight @ Jul 7th 2008 3:48PM
Well that really payed tribute to just about nothing. More of using Metal Gear as a skin for bad storytelling.
Polkster @ Jul 7th 2008 3:50PM
I thought it was lame.

I agree. The only thing that was metal gear about it was the theme.

i love when people bash things that they, in a million years, couldn't make.

tl;dr version: rethink it.

What song is it that plays? Is it the MGS2 theme o MGS3?
XeroKool @ Aug 2nd 2008 10:30PM
It's the theme for MGS3
MGS is the best @ Jul 7th 2008 4:44PM
this was good like the person above said the twist at the end was excellent
quick question which MGS game was that song from again i forgot
kayzerzoze @ Jul 7th 2008 5:13PM
this was amazing but was it just me or did they copy the MI2 twist
Neil @ Jul 7th 2008 6:00PM
I really liked it, it wasn't very original, but who cares, cool is cool and it was cool.
Thomas @ Jul 7th 2008 6:15PM
I really enjoyed it... I hope they do more.

The twist was stolen from Mission Impossible 2. And I don't think Big Boss would stike-a-pose like this one did at the end.
Mike Augello @ Jul 8th 2008 2:06AM
I thought it rocked. Hooray for creativity. One only thing is, his hands were free and carrying a pistol. Why didn't he simply remove his gag?
Jed @ Jul 8th 2008 3:02PM
wow, I thought it was very good, great job
