Memory Stick deals: 4GB for $30, 8GB for $60 [Update]
We haven't had a good deal on a Memory Stick in quite some time. Thankfully, buy.com is ready to help us out with a great deal on a SanDisk 4GB Memory Stick. The Memory Stick is available for $30, with free shipping. For many, 4GB is more than sufficient to store all your games, saves, movies and music. [Update: FRYS.com is also offering a $30 Memory Stick, with free digital movie.]If you need more space, the best deals we've found for larger Memory Sticks have been on amazon.com. They have a SanDisk 8GB card for $65 shipped [Update: Another 8GB card has been discovered on buy.com for $60], and a Sony 16GB card for $149 shipped.
[Thanks, stephen!]

Wow, that's a quick jump from 300 dollars. I'm eyeing that 8gb if it's from Sandisk.....

Isn't this the same type of memory stick that lags on CFWs?
Jonathan @ Jul 7th 2008 4:27PM
i own the exact same memory stick in the picture (4GB Sandisk) and i've never experienced lag due to the memory stick.

You're thinking of fakes. I've never experienced lag with any real Sony or Sandisk memory sticks yet.

16GB?!
I have a 2GB and it's wholly sufficient to my needs. Considering ownership of so much capacity is just asking for some massive video conversions and MP3 huffing.
16GB why now that's enough room for five hours of music, two and a half feature films, several video clips, amassed variants of save data, and every PlayStation Store compatible DLC... and then some.
@Christopher: The initial reading of the card as well as larger data transfers can cause latency. Which is why I suggest for cards above 1GB to be accessed through a USB cable.

Ugh. Wish I could order even the 4GB, but I'm gonna buy Civ Rev this week. It's too damn bad, since my digital camera is also a Sony and could use this. Go forth and be happy with your huge capacity memory cards, people...

What is the best brand for psp mem sticks?
Jacksons @ Jul 7th 2008 9:30PM
Being able to keep all my music on my PSP is tempting. Perhaps when a few more PS1 classics I want appear on the store I'll bite. Here's hoping.

Does the PSP even support 16 GB?
TJF588 @ Jul 8th 2008 4:33AM
There's a 4 gig Sony card ("Mark 2") on Amazon (same link up there) for $30, with the 8 gig being more than double that. If I get a job and paycheck in time for that price to stay as-is, a 4 giger oughta be awwriiight. Anyone know anything about this "Mark 2" business?

Be careful over on Buy.com. I bought the memory stick but their site is designed to try and get you to sign up for all manner of useless crap. Stay on your toes and don't click anything that looks like it's a scam.
