Carry two extra memory sticks with new accessory

As an alternative to the UMEMD, PSPGadgetZ suggests you check out this other UMD-slot, slip-in memory stick holder for your PSP. Previously, the UMEMD could only be used inside the PSP-1000 models (fat ones); however, this new gadget can be used with both the fat and slim models. The only drawback is that this one can only hold two memory sticks -- half the UMEMD's capacity of four.

It looks like you can't currently buy this thing alone either; it comes together as part of other PSP accessories. You can check them out here and here if you're interested. There are also more pics over at PSPGadgetZ.

Memory sticks are about the size and weight of a postage stamp.... why do we need something to carry them inside the PSP? Do you not have pockets? Do you not carry around a case for the PSP or spare games or headphones or any myriad other things that require several orders of magnitude more storage space?

Small things get lost easily, and so this holder will keep track of them for you. Seems simple enough.

I dunno, Nate. The small size is precisely why this looks good to me. (That's what SHE said.) But, seriously, I'm always afraid I'm going to lose a Memory Stick. So, I never take extra ones out of the house. I'd love to be able to store them with my PSP.

hahahahahaha nice one..those jokes never get old for me for some reason. Anyway, I would like this..I already attempted to make one by breaking a umd case open and using that. What scares me though is that at the XMB the system still tries to read it if it were like a game itself.

That looks somewhat dangerous and potentially harmful to the UMD drive. And god forbid, if something does snap off or get lodged or dislodged something, good luck getting Sony to honor your warranty.

Exactly . I dont see the point of this . Shore you can get them lost easier that way , but for the price your getting this I would rather save up and get a bigger MS .

This is for pirates, who dont carry UMD games. All you need is your PSP, and maybe a pair of headphones. Keep your movies on one stick, your games on another, and something else on the 3rd, like porn ;)

Everything is together in one convenient package, just grab your PSP and go.

Actually, this would be nice to put in my travel case, rather than have them float around. Just stick them in the UMD case and put them in the little UMD slot of the case. A lot better than just shoving them in and hoping they don't fall out.

well, in fact pirates do carry umds on their psp's, since they need one inside for the game to run.

Why would you need 2 memorystick slots? Just buy a 16gb/8gb/4gb stick (and with the psp2 32gb/64gb)

every thing on the psp is suppose to be small that's the point of a psp - to have a portable, small , and easy to carry ps2.

It's not a terrible idea if you have a case for all your UMDs, then you could stick this in there as well. I'm not too keen on using the disc tray as a storage compartment, but whatever floats your boat.

That red PSP sure looks nice in that pic ^_^

As long as the holder doesn't push the white stick down in the UMD drive, that's what starts it spinning (in the PSP Slim)

I'd still be a bit hesitant to use it.
