The Last Guy teaser site opens
Remember The Last Guy? It was a title that Sony trademarked awhile back. Other than that fact and a name, the only other thing we knew about the game was that it received an E10 rating from the ESRB. However, now we've got a little more to work with as Gpara points out a teaser site for this supposed title.
On the teaser site, we can see rows of red caricatures seemingly marching. The red text stating "2008.7.11" suggests we may see something soon this Friday. A star adjacent to The Last Guy text also seems to be more than just a design -- it appears to be part of the title itself. We sense a strong allusion here; the game could possibly be about Communism (soldiers, red star, etc.), but that's just a thought. Anyway, feel free to play around with the site; maybe you'll find something we've missed.

I love the song.

The song on the site is way to technoish and out there to have to do with something like communism imo. But the marching red soldiers could symbolize the game being about communsim, you never know

The song reminds me of modern China...

I would have to say it's a puzzle game a la echocrome.

I've downloaded the flash and decompiled it and it doesn't have any hidden links or anything, so no, you didn't miss anything

all those little red guys seem to be leaving... could be an 'i am legend' situation?
Blooper62 @ Jul 9th 2008 4:32AM
I don't know but hope that song gets on the store ASAP! Wouldn't mind playing SSDHD to that.

the background music and E10+ rating don't seem to support a "communism" style game, however that doesn't seem to matter because it has already made me interested to see what this game is
devilmaker @ Jul 9th 2008 7:52AM
I reckon it will be a PSN-Retro tupe-ish game, the teaser site has no real 'graphics' as such and the music certainly supports that Idea I believe... lets find out more on the 11th.

It seems to be connected with Google Maps, and you escort people to safety from zombie-infestations.
stargateheaven @ Jul 9th 2008 7:58AM
looks to be one of those awesome 1st party sony games.
Aurvant @ Jul 9th 2008 9:43AM
Gustav is right.
The game is actually connected to Google Earth and you use are "The Last Guy" and you have to escort groups of people away from hordes of Zombies. While escort scenarios in games are like the BANE of every players existence I can imagine that a concept built -AROUND- the idea of group escort using something as high-tech as Google Earth would be kinda sweet.
Guess we'll just have to wait until friday to find out the whole story.

like dead rising tht be so cool
Matt Burgess @ Jul 10th 2008 6:40AM
The only issue I have with this concept is that if you're leading large groups of people you're not exactly the "last guy" are you?
BigLou16 @ Jul 9th 2008 10:15AM
I think this might be just like echocrome but with more people in the puzzle

If you think the song sounds sort of familiar you would be right. It sounds like a song called Popcorn http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NFN_22klUo
