Konami continues MGS4 DLC support with new music

As if Metal Gear Solid 4 weren't impressive enough, Konami continues to add small bits of free DLC into the title on a regular basis. Boot up the game, and go to the Extras section -- you'll find a new song for your in-game iPod awaits. "Battle of Highland" is "designed to accompany battles in South America. Different from the game's South America combat music, it possesses a more ethnic tone."

The last MGS4 update added two new camo for Snake to use, and that was less than a week ago. How long will Konami keep on sending us these digital treats?

nah..actually i bought it planned on playing it but got busy and am now in the midst of writing my dissertation so i havent had anytime to play..this weekend though i'm going to try a bit i hope.

Yeah, a moron for being busy. Don't be a jerk. What about all the people (like me) who haven't even bought the game yet? I'd love to, but I know I don't have the time. I'm still trying to work through GTA.... some of us have other obligations and interests.

I sincerely feel for you for trying to stay away from spoilers as they are on pretty much every gaming site (except for this one kind of), gaming podcast, etc.

I'm in the same boat. I'm working hard to finish GTA. Frankly, I want to get a rumble first too. Metal Gear without rumble doesn't seem natural.

To Jackass Eddie, a dissertation is a good excuse for putting off eating three square meals a day, washing regularly, and foregoing an erection in room full of naked supermodel. It is one of the most stressful things you can go through. It is all your highschool and college final rolled into one

Actually it was released last Thursday, they have released something every Thursday since the game launched (on a Thursday). PS3F was just a bit late reporting it last week :)

I'm glad to see such support from konami. It's nice to see someone really stand behind a product, rather that put it out and forget about it.

I'm still hopefull for trophy integration, though... I'd really like to have that before I start my next playthrough (Then again, I'd be happy to see it at all).

i agree. why does the north american ps store get updated so late. europe its in the am. NA is not till like 4pm or so

Because there's several hours of time difference between Europe and NA. Europe gets updates in the afternoon (their time, which happens to be in the am for NA) and we get NA updates in our afternoon (which would be the middle of the night for Europe)

Also, the updates aren't *available* that early for Europe, they're just announced earlier, because Europe has ThreeSpeech which has some kind of PS3 Telepathy Voodoo focused on SCEE, whereas we have to wait for the official PS Blog, which for some reason doesn't get updated with the information until really late.

Im on my 7th play through and still finding things and alternative routes, the ipod is an interesting thing to have playing while playing the game.

**POTENTIAL SPOILER**

One of the greatest moments of my gaming career occurred during the metal gear vs metal gear fight. I used the IPOD to play the MGS1 opera theme song during the huge battle. It was gaming bliss. I will never delete that game save. Great move to make the IPOD the only equip-able item during the battle.

How the hell do you get the new camo to work? I put it on and got close to a guard he saw me and shot me and that was it. Some of the new music is cool. I just wish I could use it in the Online mode. The music on that is old quick.

My room mate bought the game so I opted out of buying it. He's the MGS addict. Right now I'm just waiting for trophy support and ingame soundtracks. that way if I feel like branching off my save to go on a shooting spree I can put on music that fits that tone. I want to wait for trophies that way I can try to reach the goals set by the trophies. Rather than beat the game in an unstructured way the trophies should give me more structure. if they decide not to do trophies, then that would be extremely unforseen on my part since this is Kojima's last game and he's always been about adding enough stuff to make people want to play through again and again. Like my room mate whose beaten MGS 2-3 more times than I've beaten Disgaea 1-2... seeing as how each one has around 10 play throughs clocked that's a pretty decent feat.

been down loading everything since day one but,
does anyone know what password i need to type on the extras screen? and what is it for?
love this game i only beated once and waithing for trophies to be anaunce and also it took me like 32+ hrs to beat it so i want to wait and see what trophies they put before playing again.
