Possibly even more greatest hits confirmation, prices

So earlier we posted an image found in a KMart Entertainment Guide which gave us a hint at a US greatest hits line. Now, an anonymous tipster sends word of another print ad; this time it comes from Circuit City. Our tipster points out that while the games in the image do not have the red plastic covers, the games listed are exactly the same as the ones found in the KMart ad.
What's most interesting about this is that the same three games found in the KMart ad are getting a budget price at Circuit City starting July 27. You can tell the ad is for the week of July 27 as the full page reveals that Soulcalibur IV is "in store Tuesday."
The games are all priced at $30. If this is related to a greatest hits list, then this seems to fit in line with Japan's "the best" pricing which also averages around that price point as well. It would also mean that these greatest hits boxes have been in print for awhile, if they are indeed to hit stores later this month. Again, nothing is for certain yet, but we're sure we'll hear something about this at E3.

for some reason it really doesn't seem like a greatest hit if its $30.
mathab @ Jul 12th 2008 9:45PM
60 bucks for new games aren't exactly my idea of MSRP either! But hey, it is 50% off. Not bad, honestly.
ruibing @ Jul 12th 2008 11:59PM
All next gen greatest hits are $29.99 (including those from the 360) since last gen's is $19.99.
I am picking up Warhawk.
ANt @ Jul 13th 2008 11:20AM
Actually yes its right in line with current gen pricing.
Paul Lloyd @ Jul 12th 2008 9:49PM
Unless that Warhawk has a bluetooth mic, it's only a 10 dollar savings since the normal price for just the game is 39.99.
ijustw1n @ Jul 12th 2008 9:51PM
Unless that Warhawk version has a bluetooth mic, it's only a 10 dollar savings since its normal retail is 39.99.
McKey1991 @ Jul 12th 2008 10:10PM
You two posted almost the exact same thing. I'm hoping Uncharted is a Greatest Hit so I can finally pick it up for 30.
SoCoolCurt (PSN: KillaKornbread) @ Jul 12th 2008 11:59PM
that is fricken creepy! you guys posted almost the exact same thing at almost the same time.
im hoping for Uncharted on Greatest Hits too though.

PLAYSTATION 3
THE LAST GUY!
Sorry.
lantus @ Jul 12th 2008 10:06PM
Not very attractive titles to start off with Sony, hopefully more will come very soon.
ryan @ Jul 12th 2008 11:43PM
these are the ONLY titles they can start with btw.
Heavenly Sword would have been added to this as well, but something happened. could possibly do with the bad blood between Sony and Ninja Theory.
JaseH @ Jul 13th 2008 11:59AM
Ryan quit running your mouth and do some research, there never has been any 'bad blood' between Sony & NT.

Shooter McGavin @ Jul 12th 2008 10:06PM
I know this is the wrong place to ask but.....
Does ps3fanboy have a metal gear online clan?
and if not would someone like to make one? (of course we would need permission from one of the dudes that runs the show)
but i just thought id ask
Dwag @ Jul 12th 2008 10:11PM
RFOM was $55 when I bought it in jan 08.
Kodros @ Jul 13th 2008 5:05AM
And?
ijustw1n @ Jul 12th 2008 10:14PM
The problem is, everyone with a ps3 has these games since until recently there's been nothing to play.
HaloEleven @ Jul 12th 2008 10:36PM
Not me. I've been waiting for this day to pick up RFOM.
Kspraydad @ Jul 12th 2008 10:48PM
14 million PS3 sold
Approx 3.5 million Motorstorm
Approx 2 million Resistance
Less that 1 million Warhawk
Seems like they could still sell 'a few'.
For me, I don't like the online only games but I've been getting more and more interested in R2...Picking R1 up for $30 will allow me to play through the story.
BTW...do many of you REALLY pay full price for games? I wait a week or two and inevitably BB has them on sale.
Singstar w/mics: $39
Uncharted: $39
MGS4: $39
GTAIV: $44
HSG, OoB: $39
AC (just got):$29
GTP: $10 w/ Dual Shock at $42
etc etc etc
MexicanTerrorist @ Jul 12th 2008 10:40PM
Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank Future and MGS4 need to be added.
Anton Chigurh @ Jul 12th 2008 11:06PM
MGS4 won't be added until well into next year...if that.
oOo BioShock oOo @ Jul 12th 2008 10:54PM
Meh, I'll only buy if these games get trophy support. So far I heard Warhawk will get it, but I'll wait and c.
linebeginstoblur @ Jul 12th 2008 11:38PM
Insomniac Games confirms that Resistance: Fall of Man will NOT include trophy support, as they are completely focused on finishing Resistance 2. I--and I'm sure many others--are hoping that they'll get back to it and add trophy support to Resistance and Ratchet once Resistance 2 has been released.
klexam @ Jul 12th 2008 11:01PM
The latest Gamestop ad shows Heavenly Sword on sale for a limited time at $29.99. I bought and beat this game. I can tell you that this is a great price for an awesome game. This price should help those who may think it is shorter than needs be. It is, but it is also one of the most beautiful games on the PS3.
r.crisp @ Jul 13th 2008 12:07AM
I agree with you sir. It is in fact my favourite single player experience on the PS3. CoD4 is awesome online of course, but I LOVE heavenly sword. The story is good and on hell mode the combat is tough and fun to struggle through.
This game got overlooked by a lot of people purely because it's quite short, but so was Haze (of c that was a crap game), Rainbow Six Vegas (1 and 2), uncharted (which was really fun) etc.
Jangaboo @ Jul 12th 2008 11:08PM
Do you guys think Wirless controllers like dualshock 3 if its left around your balls area will eventually give you ball cancer like cellphones give you brain cancer?
Kspraydad @ Jul 13th 2008 9:15AM
Yes...and the very first side affect is that you start to write ridiculous blog commentary. I strongly suggest you have yours cut off to stop the spread of cancer.
Unleaded Logic @ Jul 12th 2008 11:21PM
I have all these. :(
ryan @ Jul 12th 2008 11:45PM
PS3 hasn't even been out for 2 years yet dude. give it time to have successful titles to be created into Greatest Hits.
unleadedlogic @ Jul 13th 2008 12:33AM
Oh i know...I should of put more in. I'm a new PS3 user and I just picked up all of these, so its more of a let down that I paid full price for them..
Well, not really I got em used..

ryan @ Jul 13th 2008 1:46AM
ah, i see. if that is the case, then i do agree on getting games like a week before i see a much better deal on them.
bigboss81 @ Jul 13th 2008 2:14AM
big deal, I got heavenly sword for 15 bucks new at target
Kodros @ Jul 13th 2008 5:08AM
Want a cookie or something?
OAKside @ Jul 13th 2008 2:33AM
Why is everyone hoping for Uncharted on 'Hits? You should ALREADY own it! :)
ryan @ Jul 13th 2008 9:28AM
because something half price is a nice thing for new PS3 owners that may have forked over $500 JUST to get the console?
Art @ Jul 13th 2008 2:52AM
Nice that Sony is finally coming out with GH for PS3. The lineup is pretty weak but I expect Sony to add more games for this year and next year.
Raster @ Jul 14th 2008 12:47AM
I agree, Heavenly Sword and Uncharted need to be added to this list. Seriously, Heavenly Sword is ancient, and fun enough - but I'm not going to pay $60 for a /maybe/ ten hour game. Twing-twang or no twing-twang.
