Deal: Guns of the Patriots for $50, with $10 gift card

So if you haven't heard, Metal Gear Solid 4 is a pretty amazing game. If for some reason, you read this blog, and you don't have this game (why is that?!), this deal from Circuit City should help you get Solid Snake's latest adventure. The retailer is offering the game with a $10 discount, making it only $50 -- but they're throwing in a free $10 gift card for good measure. This is an incredible deal for such a recent release.

Wow, nice one Circuit City (and PS3F/Juan). I've heard they're in desperate times, this definitely helps them a bit. Make a lot of fans/customers, though they probably won't make much profit. (~$40 MGS4?!)

The Gift Cards are sponsored (already paid for), meaning it cost them ~$10 not 20.

Why would you expect Circuit City in Canada? TheSource is not really a Circuit City clone.

BTW...Amazon.ca had it for $49.99 in pre-order + a $10off new customer coupon (just set up a new email address) ... I did get it in Canada for this price.

Right now its $54.99 - $10 (MAPNEWNCSAVE is the coupon code)

Dammit! Oh well, the game is worth the 60 bucks I paid for it in my opinion, but now people sitting on the fence definitely have no excuse to not pick it up.

Don't have the game and don't plan on buying it. I never really liked the series although I do not know really what this game is like except through vids on youtube and here. And it still does not appeal to me, neither does GTA. There is nothing really appealing to me.

I am not critiquing the game, its just not my type. Without a variety of tastes or games... the PS3 would really have a small following. I am waiting for Half-Life 2 EP3, sequel to Drakes Fortune, Resistance 2, Little Big Planet and boy am I really waiting for the Killzone 2.

Agreed. LBP and Uncharted 2 will be high on my list as well. Sadly, you're a brighter man than I. I was dumb enough to get swept up in all the hype, and bought the fool game about a week ago for full price. $@#^%&*!

I agree with you that those you say are fantastic but, come on! Not played GTAIV and MGS4?!!!
Those games are fantastic! I only own GTAIV, but if it weren't that i'm totally out of cash I would buy MGS4(played it on friends house).
MGS4 is truly a piece of viedogame art. It brought me a feeling I hadn't experienced since.. i dunno... Ocarina of time and Banjo Kazooie ages.

Yeah, same, to me it just doesn't seem like my kind of game.
I played I think the first one on PS1 and it was funny, but kind of boring. Plus I tried out the MGO beta and didn't really enjoy that.
Also, apparently you need to know pretty much the whole story before getting this game if you want to know what the hell is going on.

So, I would really like to get this game, but I just don't think I'm going to get that much enjoyment out of it... :(

Which happens to just about every game. It did drop very low in the Jap market but thats just because 25% of PS3 owners bought it in the first week.

I went to a Circuit City in MN and it rang up for 49.99, but no gift card. I asked about it and two people said "a package isn't available yet." After showing them the ad they got a customer service manager over and he spent about 20 minutes at the terminal before giving me my $10 card. I talked to a friend that went to another store in MN and had the same problem, but said it after showing them the ad that it only took about 5 minutes for the clerk to issue the $10 card.

Tricked the Circuit City Guys!!! I made them think that the game was 50 bucks AND I get 10 gift card. So my game was 40 Brand NEW! So go out and find the new loser employee that just finish training and tell him the ad says $49.99 WITH a $10 Gift card. Happy Hunting! :P
