PLAYSTATION Network portable ID now available

Here's a nifty feature some of you have been looking forward to -- an official way to display your PSN ID on various websites. Obviously, you will need to have a PSN account. You will also need to sign up for a PlayStation Underground account as well if you do not already have one. Linking to the two of them together will allow you access to the PLAYSTATION Network portable ID. The PSN portable ID "is a visual summary of your PLAYSTATION®Network account, including your Avatar, "About Me" message and Online ID." There is even an HTML code provided for you to display this information wherever you please.

You can also now access your Friend List via the PSU -- in addition to the information on their portable ID, you will see their online status. If online, you can view their comment/status and what game they are currently playing. If they are offline, you can see when they were last online. At this time, you cannot manage your Friend List via the PSU. So what are you waiting for? Link your accounts up here.

I linked my PSN (EU) with it and it works. No issue (so far) with my EU link-up as well.

and I remember a while back they were talking about having to shut down the EU forums in order to do this........

well it seems that I have linked accounts using a my address in the UK, but selecting USA address field for any blank fields!!!??

OK so it took a few minutes to generate it. I see it now. However, I still do not see where you can see a web page that lists your friends list and their online/offline status.

Click on your name at the top of the page and along the left side you will see a link to your Friends List.

I tried to do it but when you try to access the page with the html code from a non-US server you get blocked. It's US only

I'm in the UK and I can sign up and see it perfectly, you don't need to enter your address details at all for it to work.

It keeps asking me the same security question over and over but the correct answer doesnt appear to be correct.. Like I don't know where I was born.

I really have security questions.. I know the answer, but I dont know the exact spelling and punctuation I may have used when I put it in originally.. or the database simply has the wrong answer.. which doesnt help me either.

Oooh, nice, everything worked perfectly. I wish they would show our recently played games though. If it did that, I would ditch my Triple tag. It's a great first step. Great to see you can access the friends list from PSU. They just need to have a list of recently played games to make it great. I wish our friends list on our XMB could tell us how long a friend's been offline :(

Worked for me. You have to wait a fair while for the html to show up. Took at least a good 3 minutes. Just keep refreshing that page it takes you to, I guess.

This is good, this renders all those useless manual "card" sites ...useless. It's good since most of those guys are busy trying to make a buck off of ads rather than provide something decent.

agreed, its just hard to see past its shortcomings... (wow i sound like the rest of the haters)

Reminds me of the first ps3 profile (before 2.4) so simple, and so useless. Im smart enough to acknowledge that this is a great first step, but it just seems so incomplete. you can put this out, which basically is a one liner with your avatar. and allow it to grow with use, but home (which will never be finished) still isnt ready for people to poke and prod at? maybe im just frustrated because i wanted trophies on my card. (not to mention to beta test home)

You only have up to 16 trophies. I mean is it really that great to show off 1-16 trophies? There will be mroe games, more trophies, and then Sony will release features like that. Until then it's kinda moot. There will be hundreds of people with lvl2 and a trophies, wouldn't you rather see the feature when there's atleast 5 or more games out with it and we have some 30-60 trophies to show off?

You can only find your friends list within your Underground account profile. It will show who is online, what they are playing, etc.

Hey guys,

this is wayyyy of topic, but anyway....

So I bought Mortal Kombat 2 off the psn store friday night. But the sound is messed up. It is extremely low. But the sound is fine when I pause the game. Anyone else have this problem, or know how to fix it?
