Neil Goldman wants you to sign a Final Fantasy XIII petition

A Neil Goldman-lookalike and soundalike has posted a video on Youtube expressing his ... dissatisfaction with yesterday's announcement that Final Fantasy XIII will be go multiplatform. This "expert" in Japanese culture offers to the "gaming community" the consequences of Square-Enix's actions. He encourages us all to sign an online petition requesting an apology from Square-Enix and changing FFXIII back to a PS3 exclusive. Watch especially for the toast he offers at 1:38! Some real comedy gold here.
[Yes, we are aware this is Kevin Bowen of Something Awful. It doesn't make it any less hilarious. Apparently the people at PetitionOnline.com caught on as well, as the petition has been taken down.]

dude whoever wrote this petition is dumb. no matter what the playstation owners say, all square enix cares about is whether or not the xbox version is goi ng to sell, which it is going to do no matteerr what. i mean i understand you're pissed. because so am i, considering its one fourth of the reason i paid twice as much for a ps3, the other three fourths being metal gear solid 4, gran turism 55, and socom confrontation . i mean what are you going to say to square enix to convince them to keep it exclusive? that you arent going to buy it if its multi plattfform? they'll say fine, miss out on the best and only true blooded rpg on the ps3. fuck that. im pissed, but at least ill still be able to play it. also, ill actually be able to talk to myy friends and people i work wiith aboutt the game, because i dont even know anyone who owns aa ps3, except in cyber space. GOOD LUCK WITH WASTING YOUR TIME!

brad: Not at all. If Square can get a good number of sales in NA/EU, without spending extra porting everything over to the 360, they'd take it in a heartbeat.
That said, they'd look like idiots for announcing it, if they later changed their minds.

Technically, final fantasy games have gone multiplatform before ff13. I mean look at the ps 1 re-releases. I clearly understand that they had been out as first nintendo exclusives on the snes but really nobody complained about those games on the ps 1.
It's still on the ps3 and will probably have trophy support, maybe even it's own home room. I don't understand why people are so upset. I mean multiplatform helps the brand out. It's also good to point out that it's just been announced it doesn't mean it's going to better.

That is hilarious! I love the PS3, great console, great games. But SE allowing FFXIII to be "shared" is not the end of the world...or Sony. Fanboys are upset, but I think most people with sense will realize how ridiculous it is to be this emo over a game that we "still" get to play, on a system that has more hardcore exclusives coming than the competition (including the Wii). Eventually, most, if not all, 3rd parties will be "sharing" their games. Sony called it, and its beginning to happen. A little time and everyone will be back on their soapbox.

sorry had to comment to respond to everyone who doesn't understand why were so upset by the announcement. SE to sony became what is now iphone to at@t. But as of recent SE has begone selling its soul to the demon company microsoft. ( money = root of all evil ) . And now the xbox has more JRPG's ( or at least the ones i wanted to play ( StarOcean) than PS3 WTF !!!!

apperantly some people dont understand why that FF move is so dangerous to our Playstation.... think about it, what if the next FF game will be a Xbox exclusive ?? Ok keep telling yourself "who cares if its on 2 systems" because the next FF game will probably be a Xbox exclusive. So its very inportant that this is the 1st AND last FF on Xbox. The next one has to be a Playstation exclusive.

will... i kinda agree with him, im still gonna buy the game, but they did broke my heart when i watched it on e3 as they announced it... n im sure they did to millions buy brakeing that ps bond they had with exclusiveness sence psx... i hope they know they may have lost plent of sales... plus, im sure not very many on xbox will even buy it, i mean xbox is more or a hardcore game system, as in shooters, like halo n gears, i dont really hear much about rpgs on the system, but i do on ps, and there usally good games and very successful . thnk god versus is still exclusive... but still, they broke something they will never be able to fix... will still have hope for KH3 tho, if that ever happens

Damn man i didnt see this coming, Ill agree to the FF fanboys including myself this was not so much a bad move for Squre now hear me out for a min before you all start screaming at me. First of all you all have to remember that Final Fantasy was an NES and SNES series first off, but did you see nintendo fanboys freak out over it when the series went over to the PSone well they might have but i cannot recall that long ago but anyways my point is, is that the reason sony had the series so long, is that PSone and PS2 was the best 2 selling systems for its generation. Ok explain to me why this is such a big deal. But The Reason squre is only doing this is to get alot more money cause, not to take offence to this any of you PS3 Fanboy's out there but xbox does have more people owning the system. In the long run im not really a fan of Final Fantasy Games anymore ever since they stop using the Old Turn Based RPG element and come up with whatever they did in FF12 but besides that i might play it for the xbox but i doubt it. Now if gears of war came out for PS3, i wouldent care at all, ill be more then happy for sony. Now i know im going to get flamed for this but meh i dont care.

you might want to recheck the whole Exclusive thing there bro. Looking up MGS2 for the xbox. Another prime example of a game that was PS2 exclusive that came to the xbox but that was it the only one Cause PS2 was outselling xbox by a long shot if i recall correctly

Ok this guy is an utter loon, but I agree with him that square at least should write an apology for all the people they tricked, making them believe that Final Fantasy XIII was exclusive to the ps3, that fact made a lot of people think for the ps3 over the 360. I'm rpg fan, not an FF fan so I won't purchase any square-enix games unless they make an apology, I don't care if this games goes to the xbox 360 because we are not losing anything, but they should have stated this exclusivity issue on december when capcom did it with devil may cry 4.

Seriously what does it really matter?? Many of you are talking as if the PS3 version is cancelled.
You would think that you would be happy that XBOX's biggest E3 talking point is something you are all getting already!!!!!! You are certainly not missing out on anything so FFS stop the winging and grow up.
