PS3 version of BioShock to feature 'exclusive' DLC
Have the tables turned? Well, not quite -- but the former 360-exclusive BioShock is coming to PS3 in a huge way. Not only will it support Home and Trophies, the upcoming PS3 version of BioShock will also add "exclusive" DLC unseen on the Xbox 360 and PC. The extra content will take place outside of the game's narrative, so don't expect any canonical expansions.
According to Joystiq, the BioShock DLC will take place in puzzle-styled levels designed to look like Rapture. For example, one scenario described features a Little Sister stuck atop a Ferris wheel. Hitting the control box with the shotgun's electric buck caused the wheel to move a little. Then, players would have to find an electric crossbow inside a booby-trapped room. Every electric item found would help the player get that much closer to saving the Little Sister.
These kind of scenarios really focus on the various powers players can use in the game. While we'd have loved to see an expansion to the story, this new content should allure fans of the game -- it's like the new "VR Missions" of BioShock. A date and price for this PS3 DLC hasn't been revealed yet.

Don't spoil the game for me, but i want to know why is it famous? .. is it similar to the upcoming Dead Space? is this game a mindless FPS? or is there a good story behind it?

It's famour for its story, aesthetic and presentation.
It's not a mindless FPS.

Great news for PS3 owners. I played Bioshock on the PC and I felt it got terribly repetitive after a while. Everything that could help brake the monotone gameplay once in a while is a welcome addition.

my god, that's what this game needed was some more puzzles using your inventory and powers!
no wonder i was so bored to tears with the game towards the middle! now, it's great to see that they are finally implementing some puzzles other than the stupid security puzzle and kill-loot-kill!
thank goodness they are evolving the game! PS3 owners should be getting a real treat with this one, hears hoping they keep this up and introduce more Metroid/Resident Evil style puzzles for Bioshock 2.

So, months later and on a 25 to 50gb disc and they are promising new DOWNLOADS?
What utter crud.
PS3 owners will do well to play this epic game but this is a cheap and shitty move. And yes I realise there is content on the disc too but this changes nothing.
This is when DLC is abused.

I agree

Devs, please make use of Blu-Ray. I do not know, just anything! Put a movie (any movie) in addition if there's a lack of content or just make full 10+ languages localization in HD-audio.

So.... the original Bioshock had.... flaws??? It was praised as the greatest game of all time, and anyone who said differently was instantly branded a blasphemer - much like any criticism of GTA4 must remain behind closed doors.
I'm glad to hear that the repetitiveness is being addressed, and will buy this for PS3.

yup!
it was just easy to praise the game for it's unique style and nifty graphics, when the game just boiled down to:
search this body for loot, kill this mutant, search their body, kill Big daddies, 'harvest' little girls for 'Adam', use it to buy plasmids that you will most likely never use and every once in a while do some dumb "connect the tubes" security hack game.
the end boss was also a letdown. but hey, they're stuffing some puzzles in to break it up, so that's awesome!

This is disappointing. I was hoping for a reason to buy this game again, but this isn't it.
PirateGamer @ Jul 16th 2008 3:54PM
The reason to buy the game is simply because it's an amazing game unlike any other game you've played before. It's not just a shooter, it'a a well told story with a number of twists (REALLY GOOD ONES) and the weapons or tonics are unlike anything I'd seen. Trust me, it's an awesome game.
