The multiplayer classes of Killzone 2

Rifleman:
The default multiplayer character is assigned when no primary badge is selected. A secondary badge may still be added. Riflemen can start with most weapons, except for the specialized ones.
Engineer:
Primary badge ability: Sets up an automated turret which targets the enemy.
Secondary badge ability: Repairs ammunition dispensers, mounted guns, and automated turrets.
Medic:
Primary badge ability: Revives downed team mates.
Secondary badge ability: Throws a health pack, which can be picked up by other players.
Scout:
Primary badge ability: Uses a cloaking suit to become near-invisible.
Secondary badge ability: Tags all on-screen enemy players with a hidden marker, which broadcasts their coordinates to team mates.
Assault:
Primary badge ability: Dons heavy armour twice as strong as normal.
Secondary badge ability: Temporarily boosts running speed.
Tactician:
Primary badge ability: Throws a coloured smoke grenade, which serves as a spawn point.
Secondary badge ability: Requests air support from a sentry bot which targets the enemy.
Saboteur:
Primary badge ability: Assumes the disguise of a randomly selected enemy player.
Secondary badge ability: Throws a sticky, proximity-activated C-4 charge.

Looks like they're really putting some extra effort into this now that they have the extra months to get it right.
Still pumped for this. Can't wait for Feb 09.

And people say it was the right decision to promote Resistance 2 over Killzone 2. Some classes have me worried though.

Ive actually started to get excited about KZ2! I got the first one on release was was MEH'ing all over it and when Sony started hyping this one up I wasnt very impressed, but damnit.. I WANT IT!
Still dont think it should have taken this long, but hell, nice game. Still think GoW looks nicer but Id rather play PS3 than Xbox.

IF you ever bothered to play KZ1 'online' you would know that it was one of the best multiplayer games on the system!!! i'm sure people still play it today!!
Guerrilla certainly know how to DO online...trust me ;)

They had a trailer for this on PSN last night. It's gone now, it was multiplayer trailer. The game looks better in multiplayer than any other game looks in the single player. This is going to be the most impressive looking game ever released. Great write up on IGN on it as well.

yeah but not much I think maybe even below 100. Last I time played which was 9 days ago all I got was half ass matches with quitters and a little lag.
I think Sony needs to lower the hype train a little bit until we are in next year and i'm just saying games not living up to there hype usually worst than games that don't get hyped but yet pass all expectation.
I already know what I'm gonna be a Rifleman with the secondary Assualt class badge.
Did they already reveal the how many players can play online in a game?

Who cares? As long as it's fun (and as long as Guerilla avoids a lawsuit from Steam) I don't see a reason to complain.
I'm digging the little twist they put on Scout, but I hope they give him some decent weaponry.

Yeah, I agree. I never could get into TF2, but I was a big fan of CoD4, so... it should be interesting to see how much I get into the multiplayer of this one.

Who does your fact checking? You should fire them.
Gears doesn't have perks.. Fallout 1 & 2 both had perks and they were released sometime in the 90s. Neither of them are copying COD4.
Additionally, COD4's perk system (which I love) is just an evolution of the class based multiplayer systems we've seen on PC for ages.

they have to get ideas from somewhere and if its from TF2 then no problem as long as they don't go adding military ranking and other over done ideas then I have no problem.
KZ2 is looking great but the Class+CoD4 perks system has to be implemented well to work though and they only got till like late january to finish the game. Not that many months if you look at it.
