Super-rub The Last Guy in this new Japanese trailer
Unlike the previous trailer that certainly grabbed our attention, this new The Last Guy trailer is all gameplay. You fill the shoes of "the last guy" who must go around different cities and lead survivors to safety in a Godzilla-esque attack by giant insects and monsters. Players try and gather the highest number of people in a single trip and bring them to the Escape Zone. It also appears there will be a time limit as well as a stamina bar. It looks to be almost exactly like Super Rub a Dub to us, without the SIXAXIS controls.
The Japanese release date is July 31st via the PSN for 500 yen (about $5 US). We are actually pretty intrigued by this, so hopefully we can see at least a demo on the US side soon.
[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

Erm, how can you be "The Last Guy" if there are other survivors?
Maybe that is the 'puzzle' element?

This game looks like it could be fun, the music is good for sure.
playcrackthesky @ Jul 18th 2008 10:35AM

Wow. That looks awful. Super Rub-a-dub is the worst game on the PSN. And putting it top of google earth doesn't make it better.

Wow. That looks great. Super-rub-a-dub wasn't that bad what are you talking about. Putting this game on google earth makes it awesome. I can fight zombies outside my house.

"It's a key game!"
I wonder if we can go anywhere on google map that we want or will it be preset locations, also I think you would need an HD tv to see clearly all those tiny people, at least a 40"?

I just realised something, the last guy looks like Superman, he has a red cape!

I feel just a hint of Lemmings in that game. I gotta say, its an awesome premise to use Google Maps as the backdrop of a video game. (Im betting they are authentic Google Maps, as Yahoo/Google has been a terrific partner with Sony.)

have any of you played WTF on the psp? this is essentially the same game as Demonstration Roundup
you walk through the streets and get people to protest something and they come out of houses and follow your exact moves. the only difference is color and graphics. i was looking forward to this game, but now idk.
