Logitech launching PlayGear Pocket Slim next month
One of the most popular and best-reviewed PSP cases is the Playgear Pocket by Logitech. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit the PSP Slim & Lite. Logitech is about to change that with the launch of the PlayGear Pocket Slim next month. It seems to be the same exact case, except sized to fit the PSP-2000. It comes with a skin template that allows you to create your own custom skin. It is still made out of polycarbonate and you still don't have to take it out of the case to use the PSP. It even fits the larger 2200 mAH extended-life battery.
It might a little less sturdy though, according to the Logitech site, the original case came with a 2 year warranty; this new one comes with only a 1 year warranty. Will you be picking this up when it launches in August for $14.99?

I have the original one. It's so sturdy, and have really come in handy many times during my travels.

However, I think the slim PSP can be easily put in a pants pocket.

Absolutely will be getting this. I had the original on my PSP slim, gave it to a friend who has the older model, and picked up Sony's official PSP Slim Travelers case. The quality on that case sucks compared to the Logitech and I find myself kinda regretting the purchase. Back to Logitech next month!

Not getting it, I have the original Playgear Pocket and it works fine with the slim after a little modification, and I paid 5$ at gamestop for my Playgear pocket so no need to spend 14.99 on this.

I'm currently using this:

Dunno how the playgear could be any better...

I have the original as well and also paid $5 for it. All I had to do was buy a couple of felt chair foot pads with the sticky backs and put it into the case. The slim doesn't move and the felt doesn't scratch the backing.

I've had my eye on the original for a while--I didn't know about the size issue, stupidly enough. Good thing I didn't get it! I'll probably give this one a shot.

Do not get this if you value your psp! I had the original on psp fat, and the case broke my analog nub. It also broke my friend's psp analog nub. It's better to get a case like this http://cgi.ebay.com/Black-Travel-Case-Cover-Pouch-Bag-for-Sony-PSP-2000-NEW_W0QQitemZ220259351435QQihZ012QQcategoryZ139969QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem which is slightly bigger than the psp so that it doesn't crush the analog nub.

i had the first case since day and NO prbs... just wanted to express the other side..also a "pouch" doesnt really work when wanting to listen to music while working and may sweat OR bump into something

I have the original with the fat PSP. It works great. I've never had any troubles with it. I would highly recommend the new case for the slim if it's even 80% as good as the originals. What is really cool about it too is that you can use it to prop up the PSP to watch a movie. That worked great when going camping! I love my PSP + Logitech Pocket Gear!!!... btw- I don't think I have one scratch on my PSP thanks to the case & a good screen protector.

I bought one but wasn't really all that impressed and ended up using the soft case I got with the PSP.
Don't waste money on this thing. Just pick up one of the original cases, get a small sheet of Neoprene and you can make the PSP Slim fit snuggly. I saw one shop in the UK who was selling a sheet for 99p (~$2) which was only slightly bigger then the case and was the same thickness as the difference between the regular and slim PSP. Perfect for the job.

Good piece

I hope they account for the new placement of the headphone/remote jack. That's the biggest problem with PSP Slim cases so far... they usually just barely/or forget to take that into consideration.

I use Joytrons Case and Screen Protector and Sony's UMD Case.
Not as much protection but almost no difference to a naked psp. Also Fully Functional including UMD access except doesn't take big battery or let you swap batteries that easily.

The original was great for my PSP 1004 ... so yeah I wiull pick this up If I can find it ;)

I was waiting for Logitech to get with it and put out a slim case. When I was looking for the right case for my import slim. But at last, from what/how people are commenting. They just may have waited too long to put this out. As for me, I use a clear Joytron case and a Hard Pouch from Hori. They both work like a gem. So I don't think I'll be putting any money into this case...

I won't get one of these. I love my brushed black aluminum Nyko case too much and it comes with a spare battery built into the case!

I would like to see a review from the psp fanboy staff.
