Revealed trophies for BioShock identical to 360 achievements
Over on the PS Blog, the executive producer for BioShock revealed some detailed information on trophy content for the upcoming PS3 version. In fact, the post divulged that the trophies mentioned were identical to the achievements found in the original Xbox 360 game. It is very likely that the remainder trophies will follow just the same.
Silver trophy "Historian" is exactly the same as the 360 achievement of the same name which requires players to find all audio diaries. Gold trophy "Brass Balls" requires players to complete the game on hard mode with all Vita-Chambers turned off. This one is also identical to the 360 achievement of the same name. Some of the bronze trophies will revolve around the in-game systems "like Researching, Modifying Weapons, Hacking, and Crafting." In total, only a very few trophies were mentioned, but it wouldn't be surprising if some of these achievements find their way into the PS3 version.

Awesome. I'm really excited to actually get some trophies (I don't have Super Stardust)!
Tim Parsons @ Jul 21st 2008 7:53PM
Personally I'm finding it Impossible to get any of the Super StarDust HD trophies.
Popfrogs @ Jul 21st 2008 8:06PM
@Tim: Play some planets on Arcade mode in Easy. That's a good start.
MakaiOokami @ Jul 21st 2008 8:43PM
@ Tim if trophies were really easy that anyone could get all of them... then what would be the point?
Tim Parsons @ Jul 21st 2008 9:01PM
@ Popfrogs i've managed to make it to the final part of the first planent to try to take out that sacer a few times, but no luck yet, and that was on easy.
@ MakaiOokami and just how hard are the acheivements for 360? I've rent and beaten Gears of War & Halo 3 and got a few in the process,. but I guess it's expect to be hard for this type of game if your not that great at it,. I shouldn't have even purchased Stardust .

This game should be something with Digital Extremes helping to make the graphics look amazing on the PS3 system. If its true and the trophies follow archievements that is find to me too, I will brush on them so when it launches I will be ready.

Is there a point here? positive? negative?
How many people would rather have the same exact trophies as xbox than have none at all?
I'm guessing... everybody?
It seems reasonable that it'd be easier for them to "port" (for lack of a better word) the trophies than to figure out ways to make new ones just for us. If rockstar and other people can't even handle that much, we're never getting out own trophies.
OddyOh @ Jul 21st 2008 7:37PM
Yeah, who cares if the trophy list is the same? It's the same game, what the hell would we expect? If I play NHL on the 360, and then on the PS3, I'm not gonna be disappointed that the PS3 still has the same Stanley Cup!
Dwag @ Jul 21st 2008 7:26PM
This was obvious they aren't gonna put money into making unique trophies and if Sony does make them use trophies then they aren't be different.
Trophies=Achievements thats all that needs to be said.
xFenixKnightx @ Jul 21st 2008 7:35PM
Hahahaha, well no shite! Regardless of whatever his name is that said PS3 will have its own unique ch33voz on multiplat games I bet they dont. That not a bad thing to me. Devs dont wanna do double work.
This way I can compare with both my 360 and PS3 buddies to see whos got the most game. Damn, I might rent this to see the new stuff and get some trophies. The achievements in this game are not that difficult. Only about 3 or 4 are pretty boring and tedious.
Tim Parsons @ Jul 21st 2008 7:56PM
I think all Devs should make their games have identical trophies on their games on both system. I see no reason to have them different at all.
I have had no interest in Bioshock though, played the Demo when I rented a 360 to play Halo3 but I might just play it anyway, least now I won't have to rent a console to play it
HanzoTheRazor @ Jul 21st 2008 8:43PM
A big step up in graphics will make me purchase this again for my PS3. lookin' reallll good!
MakaiOokami @ Jul 21st 2008 8:45PM
Quit trying to be doom and gloom about it. Either way it doesn't matter. How many unique goals is 1 company supposed to set for a single game?
Mr.ESC @ Jul 21st 2008 9:55PM
You'll be surprised.
Dead Rising is the best example there is about how games should manage achievements. A hard achievement doesn't equal a good achievement.

Spoiler Free:
“Gold trophy "Brass Balls" requires players to complete the game on hard mode with all Vita-Chambers turned off”.
I got this achievement after 5 minutes when it was first released on the DLC for the xbox 360. I started a game on hard the second time and since I'm not a fan of getting killed I just saved/load but to be honest is not that hard. Well I had a save with the Final Boss in hard so it was just matter of beating it again (I just love to beat Bioshock boss is as fun as beating Sigma/Zigma in Maverick Hunter X )
Pro Tip: After getting the camera the game is a cake walk on hard mode, just keep using Telekinesis, Freeze and if you want Fire or electricity. Upgrading all your weapons helps a lot.
DukeFett @ Jul 21st 2008 10:07PM
the only thing I dont like, is that in the language of the original article, they're playing it off as these were created specifically for the PS3, anyone who's played or seen the xbox achievement list would remember a name like Brass Balls, I don't see why they couldn't either make different names, or just be like, hey it's the same as the 360 ones.
andy.taylor @ Jul 22nd 2008 7:00AM
12 Stardust Trophies and counting!
Its not that hard guys, although some take a lot more patience than others.
Gemini Ace @ Jul 22nd 2008 9:13AM
Talk about phoning it in! lol!
1664 @ Jul 22nd 2008 10:20AM
iv never played xbox so doesnt matter to me that the achievements are the same, im just glad that we finaly got some as it will deffently persuade me to replay the game and get them all, or at least try.
