Deal of the Day: Soulcalibur IV Hori Fighting Stick $42
Those of you who were on the fence about the Soulcalibur Limited Edition Fighting Stick 3 by Hori last month might want to reconsider the peripheral again: the price has been reduced $8 to $41.99. Not too bad for a newly released product.
We are aware there are some higher-end fighting sticks around, but at this price range, this particular one is unbeatable. With Soulcalibur IV arriving in stores a week from today, order one now and you might just have it ready when you bring the game home.

You say there are higher-end fighting sticks. Could someone direct me with links to a few of them? My friends and I love to play fighting games and it'd be nice to either get this or one of the higher-end ones.

The best one is the VSHG (Virtua Sega High Grade). =)
Vincent @ Jul 22nd 2008 12:50PM
Ops, Virtua STICK High Grade. My bad. Anyways, that's the best one really. But it's available for PS3 only (you can get a pro to mod it to work on a 360 as well though)

search Real Arcade Pro 3.
better quality stick if you dun plan to mod it.
if you do plan to mod the stick, might as well get a cheaper one like this

As I've said before... this PS3 (and the 360 version) are the two WORST sticks Hori has ever made. Avoid at all costs.

Why is that? Sorry asking you to repeat yourself..

I dont know if this is something they were referring to in their post.
You can get the x-arcade tankstick and a ps3 adapter, but it's fairly expensive.
However, the quality is brilliant. My friend has one hooked up to his PC and it's never been more fun to play marvel vs capcom 2.

I don't really need this stick to play Soul Caliber. I'll wait and see how far it drops down before Street Fighter gets released.

Soul Calibur IV is awesome I got it Saturday. The fighting system is really deep The graphics are beautiful I haven't tried the tower mode yet tho But it seems interesting

I HATE arcade controllers that have the super old school round bubble stick, just thinking about that thing in my palm makes me angry!
Alex @ Jul 22nd 2008 1:41PM
lol... so i'm guessing japanese style arcade sticks aren't your thing. personally i love the ball on the stick. it feels just right.
to each his own. whatever it takes to play your best.
Carney @ Jul 22nd 2008 1:42PM
Depends on the game for me, but I can see how if you were used to a stick a ball might be annoying. They should let you swap it out.
Gambit07 @ Jul 22nd 2008 1:59PM
Great idea, an option to swap it out. I used to have a custom dual arcade stick for the Dreamcast, heaven for playing 3rd strike.
Carney @ Jul 22nd 2008 1:43PM
I'd pick this up if I knew it could work on PS1 and PS2 games.
Plenty of older fighting and arcade games that would be fun with a real joystick.
Anyone know?

I just received my stick in the mail on Saturday and I've played MVC2 and Street Fighter EX3 thus far with it on my PS3 and no problems. I'm not the greatest 2d fighter out there but for 42 dollars it is nice to have a stick that I could mod later on but is decent for the price.
Carney @ Jul 22nd 2008 11:24PM
Excellent, thanks Loonknight.
