DC Universe Online screenshots, demonstration at Comic-Con

We finally have some actual screenshots from DC Universe Online, as opposed to the thumbnail sized ones we saw on the game's MySpace page. Like the E3 trailer, they seem to be focusing on the well-known denizens of the DC Universe. Keep in mind you won't actually be able to play as one of them, but rather as hero/villain you create on your own.
SOE has also announced they will be "revealing exciting new details" about DCUO at Comic-Con, which begins tomorrow. There will also be a "first-ever public demonstration" taking place, so if you are a fan of all this superhero business and you are around San Diego, drop by and check it out.

As an MMO should I expect this will have a monthly fee attached to it? I haven't heard that discussed one way or the other.
I'm used to seeing MMOs have monthly fees, but when I thought about it I can't name any console-based MMOs for the 360 or PS3 so I thought this might be different.
Anyone have any insight on this?

FF 11 for the and Phantasy Star Online for the 360 are both console MMO and have a monthly fee of, i think, $15.

I realize that last line was more or less for effect, but just in case someone takes it literally, I'm pretty sure Comic-Con is sold out.

While I like the idea of finally being able to play as "Infectuous Lad" the gameplay video on PSN for this looks bad. Like, last gen bad.

Heh, this has so much potential but cant be optimistic about it when SOE are are in on it. Christ they made some mess of Star Wars Galaxies which was a flawed gem, they destroyed it with a possible view to console ports.
If theres an MMO thats suitable for consoles its Guild Wars, the competitive nature and low time investment is far more suitable. Extremely fast paced and co-ordinated combat for an MMO. Would love to see NCSoft do an mmo for consoles, even if it isnt Guild Wars, oh I miss that game.

Bay area? Comic-con is in San Diego not San Francisco.

Yep, you are right. I just corrected it, thanks!

The animation in this game needs tons of work. Unfortunately more work than I expect will get done. Stills look pretty decent, but the game looks horrible in motion.
I certainly wouldnt want to play it as is.
