Penny Arcade Adventures also coming to PS3 this Fall
After debuting on PC, XBLA and Mac earlier this year, many wondered why Penny Arcade Adventures was not coming out on PS3. Thankfully, developer Hothead Games has listened to your input and has announced a PS3 version will release on PSN later this year. "We keep getting emails asking why our Penny Arcade game is not on PSN," said Hothead's CEO, Vlad Ceraldi. "We have always said we wanted to have our games on as many platforms as possible to give choice to gamers. All good things take time and we are very excited to be debuting our first PS3 title and look forward to bringing more games to this platform in the future."
On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness is an RPG adventure game set in a 1920s pulp-horror universe, featuring many characters from the popular Penny Arcade webcomic series. The PS3 version of the game will be priced similarly to the release on XBLA and PC. See the very first images of the PS3 version in our new gallery.

@#$%!!! I've already bought it on both 360 AND PC. Well, I guess if it has trophy support I'll be glad to play though it again. Even better, if they made it PSP compatible.
Lordtombot @ Jul 23rd 2008 1:27PM
why both? Are they any different?
Meresin @ Jul 23rd 2008 1:25PM
This is very good news indeed.
gamingeek @ Jul 23rd 2008 1:25PM
Screw these Xbox fanboys. Their strip sucks and I've heard their game sucks also.
Xoviet chiK @ Jul 23rd 2008 2:11PM
You know what I heard? If you swallow Pop-Rocks and Pepsi, you're stomach will explode... And that's how Mikey died!
Seriously, Penny Arcade Adventures is a fun game. You shouldn't believe everything you hear, after the following:
Penny-Arcade are not Xbox Fanboys! Penny-Arcade rocks! PlayStation 3 is unbelievably amazing! Xbox 360 is amazingly unbelievable!
Can't we all just not be tools?
gamingeek @ Jul 23rd 2008 2:20PM
You know what? It isn't even their obvious pro-Xbox leanings because I could really care less. IMO they simply try too hard to be funny. Their strips are anything but.
soya @ Jul 23rd 2008 2:31PM
I don't find the strip funny. Maybe I'm a bit too grown up? (22)

Darn, you got me beat by a year tomorrow. Maybe I'll come to my senses in 2009.
I think I cried the entire last 20 minutes of The Assassination of Jesse James, so that evens things out yes?
Akamaru @ Jul 23rd 2008 7:16PM
I can't read their comic because it's so un-funny it hurts. That said, they do swing from the Xbox's nuts a little too much for my liking so that might be why I can't stand their comics.
I will not be purchasing this.

sweet

Could care less then less. Episodic content is attrition for gamers.
HC @ Jul 23rd 2008 1:28PM
I played it on the PC and thought it was fairly mediocre. But more games for the PSN couldn't hurt.
Kegal @ Jul 23rd 2008 1:34PM
Have the game on PC. Quite funny at first but damn if the gameplay isn't repetitive!
Couldn't make it past the first 30 minutes.
adolson @ Jul 23rd 2008 1:37PM
Repetitive gameplay? Sweet! The PS3 needs more JRPGs!
The_Punisher @ Jul 23rd 2008 1:49PM
I got it from Steam when it was $10. It's decent, repetitve, def. not worth $20.
It's good enough for $10, kinda funny.
Carlton @ Jul 23rd 2008 2:21PM
The art design is pretty cool and it is occasionally quite funny, but the combat is utterly appalling. And despite being derivative and overly simplistic, they still managed to screw up the balancing.
It's only about 5 hours long or something like that, but I couldn't manage to get through it because it is so damn boring.

penny arcade=lame xbots
don't buy it
evilfoxhound @ Jul 23rd 2008 4:14PM
In other words: "shit, we didn't make as much money as we thought we would. We'll also have to release it on that console that we hate, to cover costs"
gameforall @ Jul 23rd 2008 4:35PM
Words out of my mouth, come to mind
scratch @ Jul 23rd 2008 4:14PM
to each their own. i already got this for mac and enjoyed it. i wont get it again.
but certainly we can all agree that more games (that arent complete crap, ie they appeal to someone) on PSN is a good thing...
stargateheaven @ Jul 23rd 2008 4:05PM
meh. played this game on xbox.. it's not so great and was expensive (i'm guessing it'll cost the same on ps3)
