Qore Episode 3 to feature Resistance 2 beta

According to a recent PlayStation Underground e-mail, the next episode of Qore will feature access to the upcoming Resistance 2 multiplayer beta. Online is one of the key selling points of this hotly anticipated PS3 exclusive, with online battles that support up to 60 (!) players.

Let's just hope that the beta available through Qore will arrive on a more timely manner than it has for SOCOM Confrontation (as of this writing, the SOCOM beta is still not available for those that purchased the first episode of Qore). Episode 3 of Qore will be available on August 7th. Update: The beta will be made available in September. Those that buy Episode 3, hold on to your download!

I still refuse to buy core just to get demos. It's BS. The "magazine" should be able to stand on its own without the crutch of everyone getting it just to get into an early demo. If it can't, why even bother?

And evidently, you don't actually even get the demo.

I own all Qores so far. The demos are bonuses. Really, the magazine is worth the price. People complain for the sake of complaining but think about it. Most game magazines (at least in my country) are way more expensive than that and they don't offer half the exclusive content we get on Qore (not talking about the demos here, but the interviews plus Veronica Belmont). So... I don't see the problem.

Yep, glad i got a yearly subscription. I think the videos are pretty cool, and for me it's been worth the price of a hamburger. To those complaining: get over yourselves. You don't HAVE to buy it. It's not like Live where they're taking away online privelages. You're just missing some demos, betas, and sweet videos :)

I bought the first 2 issues of Qore and the beta for Socom is still not active. They won't be getting my cash ever again. If the beta invite wasn't going to be active for MONTHS then they should have waited. It's a goddamn ripoff if you bought the magazine for that.

Just like SOCOM, you can preorder the game for earlier beta access than QORE gives you. This preorder process probably starts after QORE ep3's release so for a period of time QORE is the exclusive method of beta entry.

Oh... nevermind; seems I skipped right over the "earlier releases" part of your post. Still, for you guys not to have a game like Rock Band nearly a year after US release is just awful. I'm sure there are other glaring examples, but I don't keep up to date with all of them. Hope they do something to make up for it in the end...

At first Qore sounded pretty lame to me. I viewed it as most people due, a way to get extra cash. However when Ep 2 had the early access Naruto Demo, I bit. My expectation was I would get the demo and all the other information would be redundant news that I have seen on the web and forums. However that didn't seem to be the case! Sure there was a bit of "yeah yeah we know that" but pieces such as the slowing down and still screen the in your face action of R1 and R2 to show off graphical and detail differences between the 2 titles.

So my opinion is that for the price, it isn't bad! Also, the ads they have, at least in EP2....where all game related, so I was totally able to deal with them.

It's nice to see that every Qore has a little special gift ;). 1 had SOCOM beta, 2 had Naruto demo, and now 3's got R2 beta. I think the year subscription was worth it.

This is not the only way to get into the beta in September. If you don't want to dish out the $3 for a "virtual magazine", just pre-order the game, and you'll be given the same beta access as Qore subscribers.

Beta access will go first to those that pre-order Resistance 2 from a very large game retailer.
