Access SrpaNet for classified Resistance 2 information
A third Resistance ARG website, after projectabraham.com and getawarjob.com, has spawned up. The name is SrpaNet and it appears to be simulated remote access via Telnet to a database. Typing up commands such as "GET DISEASECONTROL" will load up an article titled Bahamas Quarantined. But it's all blurry and unreadable ... until you type in "RES" which will rid of the blur. Another little trick is to type "HELP" which gives you some commands to help you get started. See what you can figure out by clicking here.
[Thanks, Farmer_Steve!]
[Correction: There is actually a fourth Resistance 2 site, americafirstamericaonly.com. Thanks, Slacker!]

You're welcome.
I've been trying different things for about an hour, and still got nothing. Oh well, it's interesting anyway.
Skunk @ Jul 26th 2008 12:56AM
type "get diseasecontrol" then "res"
Transcript:
--image of contaminated-area sign--
" A boat filled with influenza-ridden Europeans washed up on the shores of Grand Bahama Island last week. Many of its passengers were already dead, and the others resembled walking corpses just looking for someone to infect"
--image of map--
" American troops contained the infection within hours, using flamethrowers. Seeing as how the island is located a mere 66 miles from the coast of Florida, this development is a sobering reminder that the U.S. is not safe from this deadly plague. We must do everything in out power to cut all ties with Europe, as well as any region of the world that may have contact with the afflicted European population. Our Military is the key to keeping us all healthy and alive.
powermacguy @ Jul 26th 2008 1:04AM

Alex @ Jul 27th 2008 5:45AM
I agree no one is gonna care about this viral marketing when the game comes out. It is cool I guess but I agree with everyone who doesnt bother with this type of thing and would rather have all the info they need infront of them so they may make an informed purchase.
Though this is Resistance 2, so everyone should buy this new to support the developer, for they do so much for the ps3, IMO
Ross @ Jul 26th 2008 2:58AM

Nineteen88 @ Jul 26th 2008 10:27PM
Not much news lately, I'm disappointed.
Dahk @ Jul 26th 2008 11:17PM
@Nineteen88
I believe this is the reason why:

Read the update especially.
XeroKool @ Jul 26th 2008 11:44PM
I knew there was something going on after seeing those weird, posted by staff, on many of recent articles. Thanx for the heads up.
benny boy @ Jul 27th 2008 5:47AM
This isn't good if it's true.
Nineteen88 @ Jul 27th 2008 11:37AM
I knew something's not right; thanks for clearing up the situation. I feel sad for my fellow bloggers; they deserve to be treated better for their countless efforts.
So does that mean we'll miss all the fun we had before when we used to talk & speculate about the PS3's future?
What a waste of resources; Gamers deserve better, AOL!
Pyramat @ Jul 27th 2008 4:15AM
Wow...no PS3 news for a whole day. That doesn't happen very often.
Chris @ Jul 27th 2008 5:41AM
Posted for second page because some people didn't read first page:

Mad-elph @ Jul 30th 2008 10:57AM
have any of you tried the file name in Brown's dossier? I am working on it now...
jettajake @ Aug 3rd 2008 11:23PM
type get dk62462a and a listing of files concerning SGT. Channing Brown will apper. You can run all the files listed by typing the various commands listed. for example get dk62462a5 will bring up a letter SGT. Brown wrote to his mother.
Thomas @ Aug 13th 2008 5:58AM
Under Sgt. Keith Oster you can find the line XX334147SV, If you put that in the SrpaNet you get "you dont have access to this file" as well as the file of LL272198LSA which you find under nv92374a3.
There is also a possible user/pass under nv92374a2 which reads Khaner, Glenn Lt. Security clr KhGSPRA44397.
Get KhGSPRA44397 just brings up a pic of Lt. Khaner.
As well in Sgt. Keith Oster's file you can find 938Stockmeyer773 which is a convo between Keith and Hale.
This among the stuff that has already been said is all I have found atm
