Geometry Wars is generally considered to be the jewel in the Xbox Live Arcade crown, but if a comment made to 1Up by Bizarre Creation's games manager, Craig Howard, are to be believed we could be seeing it coming to the PSN in the future. While
Geometry Wars wasn't specifically mentioned as being planned for the PlayStation Network, Howard did mention that the PSN is "definitely in our company plans going forward," while
Geometry Wars 2 remains an Xbox 360 exclusive. "Currently."
We're always excited to hear about more content coming to the PSN, so whether Bizzare Creations are planning on porting
Geometry Wars 1 or
2 over or whether they're planning something entirely different, we'll happily grab it. Hopefully we find out something concrete sooner, rather than later.

lmao this in the psn ahh epic
Lars @ Jul 28th 2008 1:18PM
I don't get what's funny about it.
I'd rather the PSN get the version that was released on Wii. It's a lot better than the original at least, probably better than GW2 as well.
Extinction @ Jul 28th 2008 12:34PM
If GeoWars2 came to PS3, I'd actually buy it. I hate Live's currency system and refuse to buy anything on it
Devin @ Jul 28th 2008 12:35PM
Just one less "good" XBLA game my '360 fanboy' friend can try and compare to PSN-games.....
Also, I'm amazed MS hasn't paid them off, too since that is the first game that comes to mind when thinking of XBLA....
The_Punisher @ Jul 28th 2008 1:16PM
It's owned by Activision now. They don't need any more money :)
samuraidino @ Jul 28th 2008 12:39PM
Dont get me wrong,i adore geomatry wars,as it was the game that popped my 360 cherry so to speak. But by god does 2 have a lot to do if its going to win my heart from my current loves SSHD and Everyday SHooter
Nate @ Jul 28th 2008 12:47PM
Can anyone talk about what makes Geometry wars different from the dual analog shooters available on PSN? Between Everyday Shooter and SSHD, I don't really need another dual analog.
reson8er @ Jul 28th 2008 1:09PM
Well aesthetic differences aside, not much really. I have GW for 360 and because the 360 lineup was wretched at launch, I played it for many hours. It is a good game to be sure, but IMO invariably trumped by the PSN offerings you mentioned.
If GW came to PSN, I would not buy it again. Furthermore, If I had to choose between GW or SSHD I'd take SSHD hands down.
reson8er @ Jul 28th 2008 1:12PM
I probably should have also pointed out, that GW takes place on a 2-D plane (more akin to Everyday Shooter).
leiwei @ Jul 28th 2008 6:41PM
I used to be such a GeoWar geek playing it endlessly on the 360. Knowing that GeoWar waves demo was to be in the PGR4 game was the final incentive to get me to purchase a 360 for the 2nd time after my 1st one RRoD.
Now that there's a possibility of it coming to PSN, I may purchase it, but it's a difficult decision. SSHD (and its addon packs) + Everyday Shooter are definitely awesome and I enjoy those more, especially SSHD and Survival mode. Definitely insane.
Christian @ Jul 28th 2008 12:54PM
If that is their jewel then their selection is actually rather sad
Edge @ Jul 28th 2008 1:02PM
Hey, good for you guys. It's a hell of a hardcore game I would hate for PS3 players to miss out on.
That's right, I said it. I'm NOT a schadenfreude-addict like so many fanboys...

ogvor @ Jul 28th 2008 4:16PM
Finally some sense. I got my PS3 only recently and the thing I dislike most about it is the Fanboy contingency it brings along with it. I hope more PS3 gamers get to enjoy some of the great games on the XBLA (like Catan, Ticket to Ride, and the upcoming Castle Crashers) and Xbox users can enjoy some of the PS3's great titles.
Pocketaces11 @ Jul 28th 2008 1:06PM
Ya my budy told me that SSHD when he played it here was like it so I went online to check it out. It looks like nothing more then a downgraded version of SSHD. So I sure hope this isn't Xbox live's jewel otherwise I hope for their sake their fanboys don't try out the ps3 otherwise we might convert some more :)
Edge @ Jul 28th 2008 1:19PM
Huh???
Trust me, PSN's offerings aren't converting anyone. (Diatribe about delusion omited for length...)
The_Punisher @ Jul 28th 2008 1:18PM
Sry, not you :)
e.Missark @ Jul 28th 2008 1:14PM
SSHD>Geometry Wars
by 1 million to 1. The PSN selection is great. We don't need a 2D retro version of SSHD.
The_Punisher @ Jul 28th 2008 1:18PM

Mark @ Jul 28th 2008 1:18PM
Everyday Shooter and SSHD make Geometry Wars look cack anyway..
Jonathan @ Jul 28th 2008 1:19PM
does anyone notice that this is a complete SSHD clone? anyone? anyone?
Edge @ Jul 28th 2008 1:30PM
No. SSHD came after GW...which came after a slew of other dual stick shooters. So, no. You just failed miserably.
kevin @ Jul 28th 2008 1:38PM
lmao pwned

"SSHD came after GW...which came after a slew of other dual stick shooters."
Yeah, they've been around since the 80's. But I think those two games are quite different actually. I'd compare SSHD more to Asteroid than anything else (even though Asteroid isn't technically a dual-stick shooter).
The_Punisher @ Jul 28th 2008 1:19PM
Who invited you?
Better go grab some XBLA games before they're taken off for "cleanup"

I think I may be the only PS3/360 owner who couldn't care less about PSN/XBLA games.
Devin @ Jul 28th 2008 1:25PM
yeah....you are.....
Rygar @ Jul 28th 2008 1:28PM
Thank you Devin, for comfirming my suspicions.
TheSh0wstopper @ Jul 28th 2008 1:28PM
Fellas,
I have been on the fence about Everyday Shooter. Is it really that good? I got SSHD and LOVE IT! And i'm still sitting on the fence about purchasing it. I also have a hunch that, if not this Thursday, pretty soon it will be one of the "Deals of the Summer" games on PSN and drop to $5... at which point I will get it regardless.
So I guess my question is:
Should I get Everyday Shooter or Echochrome?
-TheSh0wstopper
"PSN Games PWN those noobish XBOX Live Arcade games"
Edge @ Jul 28th 2008 1:30PM
Echochrome. Seriously mind bending awesomeness. I kinda wish I got it on PSP instead of PS3 though.
halebound00 @ Jul 28th 2008 2:03PM
I must echo Edge here. If its one or the other, get echochrome, although you can't go wrong with Everyday Shooter either. Also, Edge, I got it for both and the PS3 version is better simply because of all the downloadable and FREE extra levels. They really should put out some more for PSP as you learn them really fast once you've figured it out.
TheSh0wstopper @ Jul 28th 2008 2:51PM
Thanks Fellas,
I'm gonna get Echochrome tonight. And if I my suspicion is correct and Everyday Shooter goes on sale for $5 i'll get it too. btw, has there been any info on how that whole summer deals on PSN works? I know these games go off sale this thursday so are other gonna be added? And does this make anyone else other than me hesitant about buying PSN games? Is this too many questions? What is the meaning of life?

Read your comment again.
Does what you wrote make "any" sense?
rgoff31 @ Jul 28th 2008 3:06PM
I have a large collection of PSN games and I consider GW to be a large step down from SSHD. I'd rather spend my money on more SSHD addons.
Pocketaces11 @ Jul 28th 2008 3:12PM
OK guys I re-read my post and maybe it didn't make any sense but if you guys were jumping the gun and insulting me maybe you should cool your jets.
What I said is a friend of mine came to my house and said SSHD was the same as geo wars. I thought I would check it out I found it was a downgraded version of SSHD. Which made me think if anyone who played geo wars would try SSHD and if in fact GEO WARS is x-boxes JEM as the article says then x-box fanboys better not try some of our PSN titles other wise they may switch sides. Anyways sorry for the confusion it made sense in my head.
For the record jumping the gun and maybe not asking clarifying questions before jumping down peoples necks gives us happy to be playstation fans a bad name for no good reason. So Chill

GW2 would be cool, M/soft can keep the rest of the shit that clutters live arcade though.
ozzy @ Jul 28th 2008 5:42PM
if sony had a original thought they would be dangerous..they need to reinvent live multiplayer not duplicate microsoft or anyone else...pisses me off my ps3 is collecting dust.
Pocketaces11 @ Jul 28th 2008 7:32PM
@ Ozzy
M$ has just as many original thought as sony so don't go their. Everyone is guilty of that even Nintendo it seems with this law suit not going their way.
Arnon @ Jul 28th 2008 11:25PM
Pocketaces, why do you care what he thinks? Are you that uncomfortable with someone having their own opinion that you disagree on? Orz.
pocketaces @ Jul 29th 2008 12:24PM
No but can I choose to reply to his opinion with my own opinion in that fashion that I choose... :) Sesondly it really had nothing to do with the article anyways it was kinda just a random thought so...
Lastly if you felt what I said was the wrong opinion you kinda doing the same thing... anyways that's my opinion take it as you will.
MexicanTerrorist @ Jul 28th 2008 9:33PM
I don't normally get PSN games, but I think soon I will delve into the wealth of downloadable awesomesauce.
Especially when Fat Princess arrives.
HanzoTheRazor @ Jul 28th 2008 10:01PM
I too was like u, then I bought SSDHD from the PSN just before the trophy patch and boy am I addicted now to PSN games! Awesome games that u can finish quicker and pick up and play anytime. I have about 6 or 7 now and am really looking forward to Fat Princess as well. SSDHD and PixelJunk are must haves, IMO.
HanzoTheRazor @ Jul 28th 2008 9:51PM
In this current gen, IMHO Sony is the King of innovation. Why?- Echochrom, Locoroco, Patapon, Flower, Fat Princess, SSDHD, Everyday Shooter, PixelJunk Eden & Monsters, FlOw, crash comando, LBP, Ico project, and Heavy Rain. All these are innovative and stand way out from the other companies platforms. When I look at Sony now, I respect them as I do and always have Nintendo, as for M$, well, I don't feel nowhere near the same for them! Just MO comming from owning all 3 of these platforms.
Arnon @ Jul 28th 2008 11:11PM
Where he says "Currently" (Which was horribly daft) doesn't quite make much sense. The reason I see this, is because Microsoft announced GW2 (Along with all their XBLA titles @ e3) to be a XBLA exclusive at their conference.
Arnon @ Jul 28th 2008 11:13PM
Not to mention he just randomly threw "Currently" to the end of that comment.
Arnon @ Jul 28th 2008 11:16PM

Arnon @ Jul 28th 2008 11:26PM
Though, I -do- believe that there will be a version for the PSN. Which would be pretty cool. And no, GW isn't XBLA's crown game.. that's just stupid.
