Wait why isn't Heavenly Sword on there? I've been waiting for that game to drop in price so I can get it.
-Jad- @ Jul 28th 2008 11:43AM
I'm agree... where's Heavenly Sword!?
Payam @ Jul 28th 2008 12:49PM
Heavenly Sword, and the others like R&CF and Uncharted are not 11 months old yet. The is the requirements before they can be considered at a HG title. I believe the old standard for PS2 games was 9 months. Lair would be the next logical addition before Heavenly Sword.
xFenixKnightx @ Jul 28th 2008 12:54PM
HS was ok, I'll be getting Warhawk for sure!
DJCUEBALL @ Jul 28th 2008 4:14PM
Payam... how do you explain Assassin's Creed then? It was released in November. Whereas HS was released on Sept. 12 2007
george @ Jul 28th 2008 1:33PM
funny, but Uncharted is on Greatest hits in Europe this week for $29.99 so how does it work with them being so new over there too? Makes NO SENSE
farfisa @ Jul 28th 2008 4:14PM
Wait a sec, then why's Assassin's Creed on there? It was released last November.
I agree--Heavenly Sword should be on there. But then nearly my entire PS3 library would be on the budget list--that's no fun.
farfisa @ Jul 28th 2008 4:14PM
(...grumbles at comment system)
Assassin's Creed was released last November--so the "too new" argument doesn't really wash. I guess it's third party though, so maybe it's up to the developer in some cases.
Senecal @ Jul 28th 2008 11:39AM
I have a suggestion, pick one of these great titles and let it hold you over till the fall when there are like 20 AAA titles coming to PS3. I was a little confused when the article suggested I buy almost all of these games... maybe if you missed out you should've bought your PS3 sooner. =-/
MexicanTerrorist @ Jul 28th 2008 11:40AM
This Greatest Hits list fails due to the lack of Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank and Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire.
. . . .
Yes I was joking about the last one.
Andrew Yoon @ Jul 28th 2008 11:53AM
Uncharted, Ratchet and Heavenly Sword are all a bit too "new" too appear in this batch of Greatest Hits games. Next time around though, I wouldn't be surprised.
MexicanTerrorist @ Jul 28th 2008 12:01PM
Too new?
They're from last year . . . .
Vincent @ Jul 28th 2008 12:20PM
I would pick up Ratchet & Clank Future if they released a Greatest Hits version. Same with Folklore (but I doubt that one will see a GH release).
Btw didn't they release R&C and HS Platinum in Europe? Why not in US? T_T
Andrew Yoon @ Jul 28th 2008 12:21PM
Yeah, with the exception of Assassin's Creed, all of these titles are from beyond last year's holiday season.
Kicks @ Jul 28th 2008 1:35PM
I just bought Ratchet for 26.99 shipped (that's after a 10% discount for being a member for a year)
The disc was in great condition and I'm more willing to buy used ps3 games from them than 360 games due to the coating. I bought Uncharted for $31.49 (after the same discount)
Kicks @ Jul 28th 2008 1:44PM
forgot to mention that the purchases were from gamefly using their keep it option
Mark @ Jul 28th 2008 4:05PM
Can't believe you listed Motorstorm as a Don't buy. It's a steal for the price. Infact every one (except NFSCarbon) are worth every penny.
Shame Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank are not included, but I'm sure they will be in round 2.
Meresin @ Jul 28th 2008 6:30PM
Vincent, you can actually get Folklore for $30 at Walmart already.
HenryH @ Jul 28th 2008 9:21PM
Um... Heavenly Sword, Ratchet & Clank and Uncharted are all on the European Platinum list of cheaper games.
Bad Mojo @ Jul 28th 2008 11:40AM
I have the biggies on there, but I'm interested in Oblivion. Should I wait for the GOTY edition with all the extra content to come down in price?
And second call for Heavenly Sword. I'd love to pick that game up for $30... besides trying to hunt clearance racks :P
Andrew Yoon @ Jul 28th 2008 11:50AM
I say pick up the GH version, and then if you like the game, go for any DLC. Unless the GOTY version is only a few bucks more, this is the best way to save some $.
dip @ Jul 28th 2008 11:45AM
I want Uncharcted, dammit. :(
Burndogy @ Jul 28th 2008 11:47AM
So Oblivion GOTY edition is still $60? Can someone tell me?
Anton Chigurh @ Jul 28th 2008 11:50AM
I can't believe you guys are saying "dont buy" to Motorstorm.
IMO that was one of the PS3's best launch games, and sequel-around-the-corner or not...it's a must-buy in my book.
Andrew Yoon @ Jul 28th 2008 11:57AM
It's a "don't buy" just because the next MotorStorm is just that much better than the original. The addition of split-screen multiplayer makes that an easy purchase over the original.
Anton Chigurh @ Jul 28th 2008 12:00PM
Oh, I fully understand 'why' you guys are saying it...
I really meant that even with the major upgrades promised for the sequel (because the original DID have it's share of problems), at $30, I'd still have this one in my collection if I didn't already.
But then again, if you think about the fact that it's a racer...it does make more sense to wait for the sequel I guess.
kevin @ Jul 28th 2008 11:52AM
Welcome back andrew:D
anyways I'd be interested only in resistance since i never got it to catch up with the story and by the time the second one comes out ill be set !
RC @ Jul 28th 2008 11:57AM
Everybody get NG sigma. It's a great game.
TheSh0wstopper @ Jul 28th 2008 11:59AM
Everyone get Ninja Gaiden II its an AWESOME game!
-TheSh0wstopper
MexicanTerrorist @ Jul 28th 2008 12:01PM
GTFO showstopper.
Akamaru @ Jul 28th 2008 12:10PM
I own all of the ones I want from here. Oblivion would be the one I would consider picking up first.
ImBakinBacon @ Jul 28th 2008 11:57AM
Are these available only online, or can I buy it at BestBuy/CircuitCity/GameStop?
TheSh0wstopper @ Jul 28th 2008 12:31PM
So if the retail version of Warhawk dropped to $30, i'm assuming the Downloadable version will be dropping soon also. Also, does the GH version of Warhawk come with the bluetooth headset?
-theSh0wstopper
Devin @ Jul 28th 2008 12:40PM
I would doubt it, but that's actually a respectable question....
thinkofmeasmra @ Jul 28th 2008 3:10PM
really? I thought it was kinda dumb seeing as how the current full priced doesnt come with the bluetooth headset (and hasnt for like the past 7 months) and well, dropping the price to $30 for a game and a headset cant make anybody any money. The headset alone is worth $20. However, I DID get my copy of Warhawk for $35 with the headset when it came out....but i cant see them paying for headset distribution rights or whatever, paying for the bulkier packaging (which is needed to fit in the headset) all for the new low price of $30 bucks. Wouldnt be a smart decision on their part.
MexicanTerrorist @ Jul 28th 2008 12:02PM
I still say they should've went with blue packaging.
wisconsinista @ Jul 28th 2008 12:09PM
I'm excited as the used bin prices dropped just as much. I sold my Resistance for $30 store credit -maybe I'll get it back for $15 via the used bin. I'm truly bummed about no Drake. I was planning on picking it up to feed my inner trophy whore. I'm not looking forward to Warhawk newbies manning turrets on bases they don't own.
Gaucho @ Jul 28th 2008 12:31PM
I would have gotten resistance, sigma and oblivion earlier on but games like that tend to scare the unholy crap out of me (pretty big pansy with resident evil games) in any case, I might get them now that they are on sale. i never really got how oblivion works though. is it an mmo?
meatee @ Jul 28th 2008 1:18PM
I guess in some ways it kinda feels like an MMO, but its completely offline single player. You have tons (and I do mean freakin' tons) of side quests to do in addition to the main story, so its definitely worth the $30.
gumby @ Jul 28th 2008 12:19PM
Oblivion is seriously an epic game. If you haven't tried it now would be a great time. I'd say its one of the best games I've ever played.
Gemini Ace @ Jul 28th 2008 12:23PM
I found Virtua Fighter 5 at Walmart for $9 this weekend.
The Sound @ Jul 28th 2008 12:29PM
Bought Resistance yesterday for $30. Clear case 'n all.
ajiezer @ Jul 28th 2008 12:34PM
Warhawk @ 30 is not a so hot deal considering that the original price is 40 unless they still give away the headset.
Payam @ Jul 28th 2008 12:48PM
They don't include the headset in the GH version and there will not be one of with the headset at a discounted price. Likely the headset package will be phased out at the orignal price.
Night Elve @ Jul 28th 2008 12:51PM
Well this next weekend I'm gonna buy Warhawk for 30 bucks I think is a pretty good deal.
ajiezer @ Jul 28th 2008 1:38PM
@ Payam: Thanks 4 the info
@ Night Elve: It's a great game, I've played it more than 140 hrs it's just that considering that the downloadable version or the disk w/o the headset are 40 bucks, and the other games do get a 30 buck cut I thought it was kinda uneven, but anyway it rocks.
oOo BioShock oOo @ Jul 28th 2008 12:44PM
So the only game getting trophy support in this list is Warhawk?
thinkofmeasmra @ Jul 28th 2008 3:10PM
uncharted gets it too
Nylar @ Jul 28th 2008 1:03PM
There's no need to actually BUY Uncharted unless you're a collector or a completist. If you just want to play through it start to finish, rent it. It can easily be beaten within the span of a blockbuster 12 day rental.
MexicanTerrorist @ Jul 28th 2008 1:24PM
Well, I loved Uncharted so much when I rented it that I think it deserves a buy.
:D
