Kojima hints at 'a Snake for a new era'

It was only a short time ago when Hideo Kojima and his team unleashed Metal Gear Solid 4 to the world. It's meant to be a farewell to the ten years of entertainment Snake has provided us. "One decade has passed since the release of Metal Gear Solid," Kojima explains to The Cut Scene. "I believe that fans have shared these past 10 years with Snake. The final story of Snake equals closure for these fans. Therefore, the Snake that has existed over the past 10 years could have only existed during this time."

Of course, what's next for Kojima? We don't know yet, but if it does involve some tactical espionage action, it will involve a completely different kind of character. "If there ever were to be a new Snake (might have a different name), he will be a Snake for a new era."

I hope they follow Raiden. I just beat this game lastnight and am eagerly awaiting whatever comes next. Just as long as the franchise doesnt die cuz man, what an awsome game...that last video just kept gonig and going though... entertaining none the less though.

will they still could have a game with snake in it, think about there is a big gap between *spoiler* (for those who have not played MGS2) when snake jumped in the water to chase after liquid oclet in Ray till he was saluting someone in the graveyard
btw does anyone know who that is?

Was it really that big of a time difference?
If im not mistaken didnt Snake have some words with Raiden after Raiden fought Solidus. Also Snake and Otacon was talking over codec at the end so I dont think he went on some crazy mission that took "a significant amount of time"

In the audio at the end of MGS2 Snake says he got the data on the patrots, which is when they found out they were all already dead.

I think the grave is supposed to be Big Boss's, or possibly the Boss's.

Get the MGS Database, it sheds light on a lot of things.
For example, Raiden rescued Sunny from Area 51 (I know, lol) with help from Big Mama's soldiers (forgotten the name) but was then captured, and that's also how he got turned into a "machine".

Sure, why not? We've played Solid Snake in the present and Naked Snake in the past so far. Maybe a second "Les Enfants Terribles" project? Maybe Raiden adopts the moniker himself? Come to think of it, didn't *SPOILER*Akiba without his mask look a lot like a young Solid Snake or was that just me?

Yeah but I think Kojima was referring to the Solid Snake series, not the entire Metal Gear anthology.

I think itll be Johnny, throughout MGS4, I thought the main character was going to become Johnny... Even Meryl suggests he's a solo sneaking operative...

yip he did on both msx, metal gear 1 and metal gear 2-Solid snake both games are on mgs3 snake eater-SUB btw ps3fanboy sub check up on this, i read sumwere that there is gonna b a hidden cutscene @ the end of mgs4 it will unlock it self n in it SNAKE dies n we hear voice of god played by hideo it happens on 12th december so the story goes.

I remember seeing that in the credits and I was like "Did I miss something?!! I don't remember that!" I thought I was just losing my mind. Thanks for telling me that, now I have something to look forward to on December 12.
